    US Valve Trade Compliance is looking for smart, energetic, hard-working, and creative candidate to join our team. The ideal candidate shows good judgement and instinct in decision making with a drive for continual improvement of business operations and trade compliance awareness. This is an exciting position that will be leading global strategy, development and implementation of process improvements, and ongoing Group and Business Unit compliance program efforts supporting our rapidly growing and evolving businesses.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    Import/Export:

    + Responsible for remaining knowledgeable of, along with the application of, a wide variety of U. S. Import and Export regulations, (i.e. International Traffic in Arms, Export Administration Regulations, U.S. Customs).

    + Monitor the preparation of all export shipment and invoicing documentation, as well as reviewing the transmission of such export information.

    + Resolve any AES issue/issues that may result internally or with freight forwarders in a timely manner.

    + Responsible for the preparation of all import clearance checklists for the Customs Broker, to include a review of product jurisdiction/classifications, duty rates, applicability of duty-free entry, valuation issues, country of origin, Free Trade Agreement issues of imported commodities.

    + Provide guidance to and coordinate Imports with all functional areas including Supply Chain, Program Management, Transportation and Logistics, Security, etc.

    + Monitor import shipments for vendor CBP reporting accuracy. Communicate all errors; research and communicate variances according to compliance guidelines to responsible parties both internally and externally.

    + Maintain and administer Certificates of Origin pertaining to special trade programs, or other governmental agency certificates, (i.e. Food & Drug Administration and Federal Communications Commission), as they pertain to all products being imported from overseas suppliers.

    + Responsible for monitoring product jurisdictions, classifications, Country of Origin, Harmonized Tariff and Schedule B codes and providing corrections in timely manner.

    + Oversee activities with U.S. Customs Brokers and freight forwarders, including audit and verification of Import/Export documents, including 7501’s, SED’s, Invoices and Manufacturing Affidavits, and expedite clearance of shipments that have been delayed by U.S. Customs.

    + Perform Denied Party Screening as required for all export and import related activities and participate in the review of such transactions within the organization.

    + Participate in product jurisdiction and classifications reviews for all products.

    + Coordinate and participate in periodic formal assessments of business unit activities to ensure that policies and procedures are properly followed and that all activities and transactions are compliant with the appropriate import/export laws.

    + Identify and implement resolution of any compliance gaps determined.

    + Identify and provide appropriate export/import related training for functional team activities.

    + Assist with miscellaneous projects and reporting requests as needed.

    + Learn and follow all established corporate trade compliance procedures.

    REQUIREMENTS

    + Minimum of 2 years of Import/Export compliance experience with progressively more complex responsibilities. Prefer experience in ITAR/EAR/Customs regulations, licensing, government contracting and international trade compliance areas such as Anti-boycott and OFAC.

    + Associates and/or bachelor’s degree, IIEI International Trade Certification, or equivalent experience in import/export field.

    + Mechanical aptitude with ability to read design and print layouts.

    + Proficiency in relevant computer applications, including, but not limited to Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access.

    Total Rewards

     

    The compensation range for this position is $58,200.00 - $87,200.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
