    Budget Title: Academic Advisor (SL-3)

     

    Salary: $57,500 - $62,500

     

    The School of Management (SOM) at Binghamton University invites applications for a full-time Coordinator, Master's Programs Recruitment and Student Services position starting Fall 2025. The Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of comprehensive recruitment strategies, admissions processes and robust support systems to enhance student retention, engagement, and achievement. This position will report to the Director, SOM Master's Program Admissions and Student Services.

    Professional Responsibilities

    + Recruitment and Admissions Support

    + Assist with the development and implementation of data-driven recruitment strategies to attract qualified applicants for SOM's master's programs.

    + Coordinate and participate in recruitment events including open houses, information sessions, webinars, graduate fairs, etc.

    + Assist with review of prospective student applications.

    + Collaborate with the Marketing and Communication Office to update and maintain master's program information on the SOM website and in print materials.

    + Student Advising and Support

    + Assist with the design and implementation of initiatives to support student engagement, academic progress, and professional development from matriculation through graduation.

    + Assist students with course selection and degree planning to reduce time-to-degree.

    + Monitor student performance data and retention metrics; identifying at-risk students and deploying targeted interventions to ensure their success.

    + Plan and coordinate student-focused events such as orientation, workshops, networking sessions, graduation activities, and the Graduate Management Association.

    + Support professional development and career-related events for current students and alumni.

    + Serve as a primary resource for students, connecting them with academic, wellness, and support services as needed.

    + Stakeholder Engagement

    + Foster relationships with alumni to enhance student support, mentoring, and recruitment efforts.

    + Collaborate with faculty and staff to assess and enhance student services and program effectiveness.

     

    Salary and benefits are aligned with SUNY UUP member negotiated benefits. The position reports to the Director, SOM Master's Program Admissions and Student Services.

    Job Requirements:

    + Bachelor's degree in business administration, higher-education administration, communications, marketing or related field

    + At least one year of work experience in a higher education setting or in a business/industry environment focused on recruiting, business development or a related area

    + Ability to interact patiently and diplomatically with diverse constituents

    + Effective public relations and oral/written communication skills

    + Ability to multitask while working both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment

    + Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends

    Preferred:

    + Master's degree

    + Experience developing technology-enabled solutions

    + Experience in sales and marketing, and/or business development

    + Experience with DegreeWorks, Slate, SAS, Banner or similar business systems
