Purpose Statement/Position Summary

The Mindfulness Practitioner delivers Mindfulness practice for patients identified/recommended to receive mindfulness practice by performing delegated patient care and treatments specific to age and developmental level under direct supervision as outlined by the American Psychological Association (APA) or other mindfulness governing body or institutions providing certification. Performs variety of tasks associated with the provision of mindfulness practice in both the inpatient and outpatient environments, partnering with the multidisciplinary healthcare teams, and conducting themselves according to their APA code of ethics, conduct, and expected professionalism. Demonstrates commitment to a patient and family focused model of care. Employee will follow applicable policies and procedures in the delivery of mindfulness practice.

Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience

* Has been teaching mindfulness for at least 2 years

* Personal mindfulness practice of 2 years

* Recommended that applicant has participated in mindfulness retreats of greater than 48-hour

* Prior mindfulness experience with children approximately 5 or more years.

* Prior experience working in a medical setting and with an interdisciplinary medical team

* Familiarity with mindfulness scientific literature and mindfulness for specific trauma informed best practices for working with patients who have experienced trauma

* Customize sessions around clients' specific complaints problem areas and needs.

* Maintain composure, even in very difficult situations.

* Customer service skills.

* Work independently with minimal supervision.

* Actively listen to clients' during the mindfulness practice and adjust techniques to meet patient needs.

* Good verbal communication skills, good time management and organization skills, enjoys working with children.

**Education/Licensure/Certification:** Masters and/or Doctoral degree from university/college which is accredited (such as American Psychological Association (APA)) OR Certification from an accredited institute for mindfulness practice (i.e., MBSR) AND 5 years of experience with children.

USD $52.00 - USD $52.00

Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
