    Description:** **Overview

    You will be a Manufacturing Engineer for our Precision Fires Manufacturing Engineering team, supporting the Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System \(GMLRS\) and Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System Extended Range programs in Grand Prairie, TX\. Our team is responsible for ensuring the successful production of complex systems, and we're looking for a highly skilled and collaborative individual to join our team\.

    What You Will Be Doing

    As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for developing or maturing manufacturing readiness assessments, creating manufacturing plans, and conducting make or buy analyses to support the production of GMLRS and GMLRS Extended Range systems\. You will also be responsible for presenting at design and manufacturing reviews, transitioning new or revised designs from development to production, and identifying risks to production and implementing mitigation plans\.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    \* Developing or maturing manufacturing readiness assessments and creating manufacturing plans

     

    \* Conducting make or buy analyses and presenting at design and manufacturing reviews

     

    \* Transitioning new or revised designs from development to production

     

    \* Identifying risks to production and implementing mitigation plans

     

    \* Leading manufacturing process line validation activities and driving cost reduction initiatives to closure

     

    \* Traveling to various manufacturing facilities, including suppliers and other Lockheed sites, to support testing and hardware or tooling related issues

     

    \* Evaluating mechanical designs and processes to provide manufacturing feedback and ensure affordable and manufacturable designs

     

    \* Collaborating with cross\-functional teams, including design engineering, quality engineering, and production planning and control, to ensure successful production outcomes

     

    \* Building positive relationships with suppliers, make sites, and other stakeholders to ensure successful production outcomes

    Basic Qualifications:

    \-Ability to obtain or currently possess a Secret Clearance

     

    \-Ability to interpret drawings, Computer Aided Design \(CAD\) models, product/performance specifications and other systems integration technical data

     

    \-Bachelors or higher degree in technical discipline \(electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, etc\.\)

     

    \-Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve technical/process issues varying from basic to very complex

    Desired Skills:

    \-Experience in design for manufacturing / assembly or design to cost

     

    \-Experience with development programs and/or conceptual designs

    \-Previous experience implementing change to improve processes / Process Improvement experience

    \-Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles\. Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification

     

    \-Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing \(GD&T\)

    \-Ability to liaison between LM Subcontractors, internal disciplines, and LM shop\(s\) Production Operations

    **Security Clearance Statement:** This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration\.

    **Clearance Level:** Secret

    **Ability to Work Remotely:** Part\-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility\. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process\.

    **Work Schedules:** Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees\. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed\. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits\.

    **Schedule for this Position:** 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
