Fairview is hiring** **a Patient Care Supervisor for** **the Med/Surg Unit** **at the Northland Medical Center located in Princeton, MN. Northland Medical Center is conveniently located on Hwy 169 in Princeton, Minnesota. We serve a broad community, including Princeton and the surrounding area to provide convenient access to expert, coordinated care. Schedule:** T **his position will be working** **1.0 FTE (80 hours every two weeks)** **. The** **shift** **length will be 8** **hours on the day/evening shift, weekends as needed.

About** **Our** **M** **ed – Surg 1 Department** **at the** **Northland** **Medical Center** **:

+ 22 Beds – Medical Surgical Unit. 4 Bed ICU

+ Care Delivery: 3-4 patients per RN on Day/Eve Shift, 5-6 patients on Night Shift.

+ Our RNs work in both the ICU and Med Surg units.

+ We currently have 50 nurses, 20 nursing assistants, and 1 HUC.

This position is responsible for assisting the Manager/Director with department operations. This includes supervision of personnel and projects as delegated, including but not limited to human resources management, nursing practice, quality and safety, regulatory compliance, finance and other operational accountabilities

Job Expectations:

+ Manages day-to-day operations of assigned area(s) to ensure support of the mission, vision, values and goals of the organization.

+ Plans, manages, coordinates and evaluates patient care activities including staffing, resource management, quality and safety, regulatory compliance, and financial management.

+ Manages equipment inventory and supply management within operational budget.

+ Accountable for capacity management to promote patient flow.

+ Develops, implements, monitors and evaluates the quality improvement initiatives.

In addition, the PCS:

+ Is responsible for human resources management to achieve quality service and positive employee relations.

+ Ensures compliance with organizational policies and procedures.

+ Advocates for patient, family and staff needs.

+ Drives improvement activities that promote patient centered care and positive customer experience.

+ In partnership the Nursing Practice and Education team assure that evidence based/best practice clinical care is being delivered.

+ Ensures staff compliance in areas of job requirements, education and clinical competency.

+ Works with Nurse Director to establish goals and objectives.

+ Promotes a culture of high employee engagement, professional development, nursing education and research.

+ Partners with interprofessional team members across the continuum of care to achieve organizational outcomes.

Required Qualifications

+ Bachelors Degree in Nursing

+ 2 years nursing experience, at least one of which in a formal or informal (charge, lead, preceptor) leadership role.

+ MN Registered Nurse (RN) License Upon Hire

+ Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)

Preferred Qualifications

+ M.A./M.S. in nursing, health care administration, business administration or related field.

+ 3 years or more nursing experience

+ ANCC or AONL Certification

The posted pay range is for a 40-hour workweek (1.0 FTE). The actual rate of pay offered within this range may depend on several factors, such as FTE, skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions.
