    Pratt & Whitney’s Commercial Engines Geared Turbo Fan (GTF) Aftermarket Business is responsible for commercial maintenance agreements covering jet engines across the Pratt & Whitney Commercial Engines portfolio. The GTF Maintenance Cost Group (“MCG”), in the GTF Global Network and Cost Management Organization, develops and maintains shop visit forecasting models that support the following:

     

    + Determine the financial impact of maintenance agreements for new sales and existing engine maintenance contracts.

    + Provide senior management with strategic guidance to improve returns for the GTF Program.

    + MCG’s main tool, the Interval Cost Estimator (“ICE”) is a Monte Carlo simulation of engine operation and maintenance. MCG is looking for a Senior Maintenance Cost Modeling Analyst who will focus on advancing MCG’s maintenance cost forecasting models. The selected candidate will work with both the current ICE3 and future ICE NextGen simulation models/platforms.

    What You Will Do:

    + Develop and add functionality to (Python) ICE NG Maintenance Cost Simulation model and ICE 3.0 (Vanguard) as necessary to meet changing business needs.

    + Extract and analyze actuals data to calibrate forecasting models.

    + Assist MCG personnel in the management of ICE3/ICENG simulation model updates for PW1100G, PW1500G, PW1900G.

    + Assist in interfacing with ICE model data providers and in the communication of model releases to stakeholders. Improving maintenance cost forecasting processes, for both ICE3.0 and ICE NextGen, to improve forecast accuracy and process efficiency.

    + Educate forecast model users and forecast customers on model use, modeling concepts, input assumptions, complexity, and the correct interpretation of results.

    + Team with multiple groups such as Finance, Engineering, Powerplant Engineering, Aftermarket, and Engine Program Management to identify emerging aftermarket issues and incorporate these concerns into forecasting models.

    What You Will Learn:

    + In-depth understanding of engine life cycle and impact of maintenance decisions on Commercial Engine business.

    + Modeling discipline and best practices.

    + Improved structuring of communication with outside groups.

    Qualifications You Must Have:

    + Bachelor’s degree in operations research, engineering, mathematics, computer science or technical related field.

    + 5 years of experience of analytical problem solving.

    + Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Python.

    + Intermediate to advanced knowledge of SQL and relational database querying concepts.

    + Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

    Qualifications We Prefer:

    + Basic to intermediate knowledge of Monte Carlo simulation

    + Understanding and competence regarding statistical analysis and modeling techniques

    + Experience adding core functionality to discrete event simulation models that encompass systems.

    + Engine related experience regarding general knowledge of failure and wear mechanisms of jet engine parts.

    + Demonstrated ability to satisfy tool or project requirements through code framework development and implementation.

    + Master’s degree in technical (STEM) discipline

    The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.

     

    RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

    Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

     

    This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
