    Respiratory Therapist — Full-Time Night Shift

    Baystate Medical Center (BMC), home to Western Massachusetts’ only Level 1 Trauma Center, is seeking a full-time Licensed Respiratory Therapist to join our Respiratory Therapy team in Springfield, MA.

    Position Details

    + **Schedule:** Full-time, 40 hours per week, Night shift

    + **Additional:** Rotating weekends and holidays

    + **Location:** Baystate Medical Center, 759 Chestnut Street, Springfield, MA

    What You Will Do

    + Provide respiratory care for patients of all ages, from infants to adults

    + Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot respiratory equipment

    + Obtain arterial blood gas samples and assist in cardiopulmonary resuscitation

    + Perform EKG tracings and maintain accurate patient therapy documentation

    + Apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology, gas laws, lung diseases, and pharmacology

    + Follow all department policies, safety protocols, and infection control standards

    + Recommend and administer appropriate respiratory therapies focused on patient comfort and outcomes

    Qualifications

    Career Ladder Levels:

    + Level I: Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy

    + Level II: Associate’s Degree + 1 year of clinical experience

    + Level III: Associate’s Degree + 3 years clinical experience + 2 years charge experience OR 3 years clinical experience in 2+ critical care areas

    Required:

    + Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) licensed in Massachusetts

    + CPR certification (American Heart Association Healthcare Provider)

    Preferred:

    + Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

    + Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification

    + Experience as a preceptor or clinical leader
