    Position Details

    + **Schedule:** Part-Time, 24 hours per week

    + **Shift:** Nights with rotating weekends and holidays

    + **Location:** Baystate Medical Center, 759 Chestnut St., Springfield, MA

    What You’ll Do:

    As a Respiratory Therapist at Baystate Health, you will:

    + Deliver expert respiratory care to patients of all ages, from infants to adults

    + Operate and maintain respiratory equipment, including arterial blood gas sampling and EKG tracings

    + Assist in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and keep detailed therapy records

    + Apply deep knowledge of anatomy, physiology, lung pathology, gas laws, and pharmacology

    + Uphold department policies, safety protocols, and infection control standards

    + Recommend the best therapy modalities prioritizing patient comfort, safety, and outcomes

    Qualifications:

    This role is part of a career ladder with three levels:

    Level I

    + Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy

    Level II

    + Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy

    + Minimum 1 year clinical experience

    Level III

    + Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy

    + Minimum 3 years clinical experience + 2 years charge experience OR 3 years experience across 2+ critical care areas

    + Preceptor and leadership experience preferred

    Certifications Required:

    + Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) in Massachusetts

    + American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR Certification

    Preferred:

    + Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

    + Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification
