The Horizon Program at MaineGeneral Medical Center provides confidential, comprehensive medical and supportive services to individuals living with HIV/AIDS. We also offer preventative care, including PrEP and PEP, STI screenings, and other vital health services for at-risk populations.
As the Patient Services Representative (PSR), you’ll play a key role in supporting access to stigma-free healthcare. This is a meaningful opportunity for someone who values connection, service, and making a difference.
Job Description:
What You’ll Be Doing:
+ Greet and check in patients with professionalism and empathy
+ Schedule appointments and manage daily front desk operations
+ Use EMR systems to register patients and maintain accurate records
+ Verify insurance coverage and obtain prior authorizations as needed
+ Collect co-pays and assist patients with financial counseling referrals
+ Answer phone calls and support patient inquiries with clarity and care
+ Ensure patient confidentiality while creating a welcoming, inclusive space
What We’re Looking For:
+ Experience in healthcare registration, medical office, or other customer-facing settings
+ Sensitivity to the needs of individuals living with HIV/AIDS or accessing preventive care
+ Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
+ Familiarity with EMR systems and insurance verification
+ Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
