Job Description:
MaineGeneral’s Medical Assistant Earn to Learn Program is now accepting applications for the next class starting Monday, September 22.
Program Highlights
+ Structured Weekly Schedule: This is a paid, benefit-eligible training position at 32 hours per week.
+ In-Depth Training: The program includes approximately 100 hours of classroom instruction and 250+ hours of hands-on clinical experience to prepare you for a Medical Assistant role.
+ Paid Learning: Participants are compensated for all scheduled training hours during the program.
+ Certification Opportunity: Upon successful completion, students are eligible to take the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) exam administered by the National HealthCare Association (NHA).
+ Full Tuition Covered: MaineGeneral fully covers the cost of the training program.
+ Direct Career Path: As part of the program, participants will apply to open Medical Assistant positions during their training period. While a position is not guaranteed, our goal is to support successful graduates in securing a benefit-eligible MA role at the end of the program.
Key Expectations for Candidates
+ Resume Required: A current resume must be submitted with your application to be considered.
+ Pre-Interview Screening: All applicants will go through a screening process before moving forward to manager interviews.
+ Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
+ Attendance: Commitment to attend all classes and complete the program is essential.
+ Work Commitment: Participants must commit to working as a Medical Assistant at MaineGeneral for a minimum of 24 months after program completion.
+ CASAS Exam: Applicants must pass the CASAS exam with at least a 10th-grade reading level prior to start date.
+ Flexibility: Must be able to work at any MaineGeneral location in the Gardiner/Augusta/Waterville area as needed.
