This position is located at Central Office in St. Paul and may have the flexibility to work a hybrid schedule or work in the office. The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent will be expected to work in the office as determined by policy and discussion with their supervisor.
As a Small Business Specialist, you will be a part of a dynamic team that supports the participation of minority-, woman-, and veteran-owned businesses in MnDOT projects. This team is responsible for administering MnDOT’s small business programs, and your role will involve gathering, analyzing, and synthesizing information to perform duties such as setting small business participation goals on projects, monitoring projects for compliance, ensuring prompt payment to small businesses and closing out projects. In addition, the Small Business Specialist will participate in team efforts to advance small business participation by creating ongoing relationships and mutual understanding with internal and external stakeholders, identifying levers for change and process improvement, and serving as a representative for civil rights issues and small business participation.
Occasional travel is required.

Minimum Qualifications
Two years professional experience in civil rights, contract administration, or contract compliance that demonstrates:
+ Experience analyzing information sufficient to determine accuracy and compliance.
+ Experience utilizing databases sufficient to update, track and manipulate information.
+ Experience providing consultation to stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience with the construction industry and/or contract management principles and practices.
+ Knowledge and application of local, state and federal regulations related to small business programs.
