As the Communications Specialist in the Special Education division, you will act as a point of contact between Special Education, Minnesota IT Services (MNIT), Communications and other divisions to develop and publish accessible products which support the mission and work of the division. Duties will include:
+ Guiding the development and implementation for Special Education communications, including the development and implementation of timely, accurate, accessible information to key community members via appropriate methods.
+ Planning and promoting key Special Education communications initiatives for community members such as forums, advisory panel events, internal division communications and other projects as needed.
+ Coaching, mentoring and advising Special Education staff to improve accessible communications strategies and skills and help staff as appropriate on communications issues.
Minimum Qualifications

Three (3) years of related professional experience that includes experience developing and publishing accessible products that comply with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.

A degree and two (2) years of related professional experience that includes experience developing and publishing accessible products that comply with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience coordinating between different divisions or organizations.
+ Experience with planning promoting and providing technical support for community members participating in online and in-person events.
+ Experience as a content manager to create, revise, edit and review publicly posted documents and webpages that adhere to policies and procedures.
