Job Description:
Full time (1.0 FTE) M-F with occasional eve and Sat. Primary assignment to a specific suite or in a float capacity which may change to meet the needs of the department. Provides office support including greeting patients and visitors, verifying patient demographics and insurance eligibility and coverage, utilizing numerous software applications, scheduling appointments and referrals, handling point of service collection, coding and batching of encounter forms, and providing support to the suite and department. Interacts with patients, fellow co-workers and providers in a positive and professional manner. Ensures all patient and departmental needs are met.

Functions:
Performs under limited supervision, following the standard procedures, maintains confidentiality according to HIPAA & Strong Health Guidelines. Adheres to Highland Promise Standards of presenting yourself in a positive, professional manner, being respectful of each other and our patients, providing a safe and clean environment, providing excellent care and working as a team.
Salary Range:
$17.00 - $22.55 hourly

Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations._

Job Requirements:
Qualifications:
1. Education: High School diploma or GED (Associate’s Degree preferred); or equivalent experience.
2. Experience: 1 year of experience as a Medical Secretary in an outpatient medical practice setting preferred; or a Medical Secretarial Certification or Degree preferred.
3. License/Certification Required: None
4. Skills: Computer experience, medical billing and terminology required.
**Population Served:** Culturally diverse, neonates through geriatrics.
