Employee Relations Partner
Job Description:
We’re building a more proactive, strategic approach to Employee Relations at Sage. Reporting to the Employee Relations Manager, you’ll help transform Employee Relations at Sage North America from a reactive function to a trusted, proactive resource - advising on risk, enabling manager development, and supporting a values-led, high performance culture.
As an Employee Relations Partner supporting our U.S. and Canadian workforce, you’ll serve as a strategic advisor to People Managers - coordinating and managing a range of Employee Relations (ER) activities, while also supporting compliance owners in delivering key programs and processes. You’ll help identify and drive improvements that strengthen the colleague experience and promote healthy, long-term relationships between Sage and its people. You’ll also collaborate closely with the broader People team to ensure that policies and processes are fit for purpose, consistently applied, and continuously improved. Acting as a craft expert on ER matters across North America, you’ll provide proactive, knowledgeable, and timely guidance to help leaders make informed people decisions.

Minimum Qualifications:
• At least 3 years of experience in an Employee Relations role or as a Sr. HR Generalist direct hands-on experience in employee relations.
• You can speak to your direct, hands-on experience managing a range of ER matters including job restructures, reductions-in-force (RIFs), involuntary terminations, misconduct investigations, performance management, and partnering with external legal counsel.
• Solid knowledge of U.S. employment law and HR compliance; familiarity with Canadian legislation is a plus
• You’re known for exercising sound judgment, navigating sensitive situations with care and clarity
• You’re analytical and proficient with tools such as Excel, Power BI, and presentation software (e.g., PowerPoint) or similar
• You’re detail-oriented, with a focus on effective documentation and compliance
• You can build credibility quickly with stakeholders and influence with confidence
• You have strong written and verbal communication skills and can tailor your message to your audience
• This role will involve 10% travel throughout the year

• Support the resolution of ER cases across North America, escalating complex issues to the ER Manager where needed
• Identify ER trends, contribute to reporting, and help translate insights into training, tools, and process improvements
• Build relationships with People Business Partners and managers to proactively identify and address potential ER risks
• Coordinate and advise on job restructures and reduction-in-force activities in line with relevant employment laws
• Support external legal matters through case preparation and documentation
• Help ensure policy compliance and recommend updates as legislation evolves
• Collaborate with our People Shared Services team to support formal ER processes
• Assist with ER projects, from research to implementation
• Contribute to ongoing improvements in ER documentation, workflows, and internal controls
