The Opportunity
The candidate selected for this position will be working as a Financial Systems Principal supporting the Chief Accounting Office with a focus on Oracle ERP, FCCS and EPM. As the Financial Systems Principal, you will oversee the Oracle applications, developing the strategy for the optimal use of the platforms as changes occur and creating efficiencies of the current processes. Financial Systems Principal report under the Chief Accounting Office and work closely with their business partners, IT partners, control partners, and peers to provide compliant solutions. They utilize their unique knowledge and experience to research, integrate, design, and influence innovative technology initiatives aligned to USAA's mission, brand pillars and strategic priorities.
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be **in the office 4 days per week.** This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Charlotte, NC, or Tampa, FL. Relocation assistance is **not** available for this position.
What you'll do:
+ Develops and presents recommendations to CFO leadership and cross-functional teams on strategy, priorities, and operating procedures that will uplevel the impact of finance on the broader company through finance IT platforms.
+ Collaborates with Finance leadership and systems leadership to prioritize, architect, and deliver key projects, with high degree of focus on accountability and alignment between the teams and effective delivery.
+ Delivers expert guidance to the teams responsible for the management of financial applications that support accounts payable, general ledger, accounting close process, systems procurement, meta data/master data management and other accounting processes and data.
+ Provides risk and controls consultation to ensure all functional areas across CFO appropriately identify, measure, mitigate risks and report and remediate issues.
+ Serves as the module owner for G/L and accounting modules of the ERP and certain external reporting applications. Maintains the health of these systems by actively participating in MPL planning sessions to secure funding for upgrades and enhancements.
+ Improves data management and analytical platform and optimizes the use of accessible data thereby challenging and changing the way that financial data is currently used in the business.
+ Performs in depth review of each of the financial processes and procedures within the environment to identify opportunities to optimize, through system modifications, process standardization and training.
+ Leads and approves all financial system configuration and modification implementations.
+ Provides insight and prospective to CFO leaders on new systems or technologies to solve user functional requirements and needs.
+ Works in concert with leadership to oversee the team who provides global support to end users on future implementations and upgrades to financial systems.
What you have:
+ Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, Economics, or related field required OR 4 additional years of related financial experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree
+ 10 or more years of progressive experience in the financial systems and/or IT function developing strategies, to include 6 years of specific subject matter expertise experience managing highly complex projects/initiatives with significant company impact and delivering results within a complex matrix environment required.
+ Expert-level technical background of web-based application architecture, system and database architecture, security application integration and object-oriented languages in a large enterprise environment.
+ Demonstrated ability to lead and influence across business and technology disciplines in a matrixed organization.
+ Expert knowledge and hands on experience with financial and ERP systems (Oracle preferred).
+ Experience collaborating with key resources and stakeholders, especially in IT and Finance/Accounting, influencing decisions, and managing work to achieve strategic goals required.
+ Expert-level business acumen in the areas of business operations, accounting operations, GAAP and industry accounting practices and emerging trends required.
What sets you apart:
+ **FCCS Proficiency:** Hands-on experience with FCCS (Financial Consolidation and Close System) and its application in a complex, consolidated environment.
+ **Deep Functional Expertise in Oracle ERP:** Demonstrated ability to maximize the usage of Oracle ERP and optimize its functionality for business needs.
+ **Technical Accounting Knowledge:** Understanding of accounting principles, the general ledger, and consolidation processes
+ **Change Management & ERP Strategy:** Demonstrated experience in developing and executing ERP strategies, including design and implementation of changes within cloud-based ERP systems during reorganizations and new business projects. Proven ability to collaborate effectively with IT teams to ensure seamless transitions.
+ **CPA:** A CPA or equivalent certification.
Compensation range:** The salary range for this position is: $164,780.00 - $314,960.00 **.

**Compensation:** USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
