General Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Learning Science, Instructional Design and Technology, Organizational Psychology, Human Resource Development, Business, Education, or related field. Two years of relevant experience in online learning design, user experience design, or learning and development using emerging technologies, or a related field. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
Nature & Purpose of Position/Usual Duties:
Performs highly advanced learning content creation, design, development, and delivery duties for the Online Professional Learning team within SHSU Online.
Primary Responsibilities (Staff Positions Only):
Performs highly advanced specialist duties in support of the design and development of online professional learning experiences (LXs) within the Learning Experience Design ( LXD ) functional area of Online Professional Learning. Accountable for the execution and follow-through of complex and technical responsibilities, including digital content authoring and coordination of project tasks under the guidance of senior staff. Plans, develops, implements, and monitors assigned learning projects and services. Coordinates and implements departmental processes, collects and maintains project data, and provides assistance with internal policies and procedures. May coordinate student worker assignments. Assists in the planning, design, development, and maintenance of digital learning experiences for internal and external clients. Creates and organizes digital content using educational technologies and authoring tools in alignment with learning goals and user experience best practices. Supports project execution by tracking timelines and coordinating assigned tasks through project management systems. Collaborates with subject-matter experts (SMEs), team members, and other SHSU Online staff to ensure consistency and quality in content development. Conducts quality assurance (QA) checks and gathers user feedback to improve learning experiences. Compiles and organizes learner data, feedback, and usage metrics to support evaluation and reporting efforts. Prepares and distributes documentation, reports, and learning support materials. Participates in workshops, events, or user testing to support the delivery and evaluation of professional learning programs. Responds to information requests and assists with interpreting procedures and operational guidelines as directed. Provides guidance to student workers when appropriate, helping ensure the smooth execution of tasks. Performs other related duties as assigned.
