    In this role you will be Senior Functional Manager for over 100 engineers supporting the Specialized Warfighter Development Contract (SWDC). The SWDC program provides many key capabilities to the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) to include development of threats in support of ground test, and simulation software for MDA key exercises and events. SWDC develops critical Modeling and Simulation applications such as MDASim, TGx, TMSS and MDST. You will be responsible for leading all staffing, training, resourcing and growth and development of engineering employees across a large multi-disciplined engineering team. You will work hand in hand with the Program Manager, Operating Unit Director, Engineering Director and Government Customers to determine the current and future needs for staff, technical expertise and sub-contractor staff augmentation requirements. Core responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

     

    + Managing all Processes and Procedures associated with attracting, retaining and developing the engineering staff.

    + Developing strategic resourcing plans, to include ‘make-buy’ decisions on key technical capability requirements

    + Assessing readiness for promotions and salary adjustments for the engineering team.

    + Developing and overseeing all Employee Engagement activities

    + Supporting special projects such as Proposal and Capture efforts, Technical Investment decisions and Program Organic Growth efforts

    + This position requires the selected candidate to have a commensurate Technical Role on the SWDC Program

    + This position will require up to 50% time working at Schriever Space Force Base

    + Position may require up to 25% travel.

    Basic Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree 9 years of experience, or 7 years with a master’s degree and 5 years of experience with a Ph.D

    + Demonstrated leadership skills, decisiveness, and ability to make sound judgments with limited information

    + Experience with the Scaled Agile Framework or similar Agile methodologies to include scrum and kanban

    + Knowledge of Earned Value Management

    + Experience managing large teams

    + Experience working and collaborating with Program Management on an NG Program

    + MDA director level leadership

    + Knowledge of, and experience with DevOps tools to include Continuous Integration and Unit Test frameworks

    + Must have active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Strong familiarity with Missile Defense Agency Modeling and Simulation products

    + Experience with MDA organizational structure and working with MDA Director Level leadership

    + Strong interpersonal communication skills

    + Demonstrated ability to formally present complex solutions to senior leadership

    The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

     

    Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
