    Job Title: Operator I

     

    Employment Type: Temp to Hire - Full Time Mon - Friday 2:30PM - 10:30PM, OT based on Business Needs.

    Job Summary:

    We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented **Operator I** to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for the consistent operation of various machines and support equipment related to the production process. The Operator I plays a direct and indirect role in ensuring product quality and compliance with company standards.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    + Operate and control production machinery.

    + Follow machine start-up and shutdown procedures.

    + Adhere to work instructions and company policies.

    + Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations.

    + Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.

    + Maintain workstation cleanliness and organization.

    + Perform quality control inspections and document findings.

    + Troubleshoot equipment and process issues.

    + Read and interpret work orders and bill of materials.

    + Complete required paperwork accurately.

    + Evaluate non-conformities in products and equipment.

    + Perform other duties as assigned.

    Department-Specific Responsibilities:

    Chain & Spooling Department:

    + Conduct quality inspections and first-piece checks.

    + Use Nikon profile projector for measurements.

    + Perform visual inspections for quality standards.

    + Weigh and record chain production.

    + Maintain traceability using temporary travelers.

    + Print labels and package products per instructions.

    Extrusion Department:

    + Complete preventive maintenance and cleaning check sheets.

    + Conduct first-piece and continuous inspections.

    + Perform die changeovers, cleaning, and troubleshooting.

    + Calibrate equipment based on specifications.

    + Follow material drying and mixing procedures.

    + Report scrap and perform quality inspections.

    + Use calipers, comparators, scales, and pin gauges for measurements.

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    + Experience operating machinery in a production environment.

    + Strong adaptability and dependability.

    + Basic math skills and ability to perform weight conversions.

    + Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking).

    + Familiarity with measurement tools and small hand tools.

    + Ability to cross-train in other areas.

    + Lean manufacturing experience preferred.

    Educational Qualifications:

    + High School Diploma or GED preferred.

    + Previous manufacturing experience required.

    Environmental Requirements:

    + Exposure to general manufacturing environment.

    + Limited temperature fluctuations; air-conditioned workspace.

    + Must not have latex allergies.

    Physical Requirements:

    + Ability to sit for extended periods (minimum 4 hours).

    + Normal eye/hand coordination and manual dexterity.

    + Ability to grasp and hold small objects.

    + Extended reach and color acuity required.

    + Ability to travel via car or plane.

    + Must be able to lift and transport up to 30 lbs.

    **Pay Details:** $15.75 to $16.75 per hour
