Job Title: Phlebotomist - East Brunswick
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled phlebotomist with experience in performing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, and recording maintenance data. The role involves updating patient information and ensuring the proper handling and storage of specimens according to established procedures.
Responsibilities
+ Collect and store specimens following established procedures.
+ Clearly and courteously explain the process of venipuncture and other specimen collection methods, such as urine or fecal, as required.
+ Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
+ Fully comprehend physicians' orders.
+ Verify test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy.
+ Attend annual department trainings.
+ Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
Essential Skills
+ Proficient in blood draws and phlebotomy.
+ Experience with high volume blood draw settings.
+ Straight needle technique proficiency.
+ Centrifuge operation knowledge.
+ Ability to follow and understand blood pressure protocols.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ GED or High School Diploma.
+ Phlebotomy experience in high volume patient service centers or oncology centers.
Work Environment
The position involves working within smaller in-office doctor settings or Patient Service Centers, providing exposure to different and smaller environments within a larger company. The work hours are Monday (9am - 5pm), Wednesday (9am - 5pm), Friday (7am - 1pm), with rotating Saturday shifts from 8am to 2pm.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.
