Sterile Processing Tech - Full Time Variable Shifts

Work location: Texas Health Rockwall - 3150 Horizon Rd, Rockwall, TX 75032

Work hours: Full Time, 40 hours weekly, Monday-Friday with some weekends on call, work schedule will be determined at the time of hire for day shift or evening shift

Here’s What You Need

+ High School Diploma or Equivalent required

+ 1 year of sterile processing experience preferred

+ CSPDT - Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician required within 2 years of hire or

+ CBSPD - Certification Board for Sterile Processing & Distribution required within 2 years of hire or

+ CRCST - Certified Registered Central Service Technician required within 2 years of hire

+ Detail oriented

What You Will Do

+ Performs scanning of instrument trays for location and creation of count sheet/label. Demonstrates proper assembly technique for instrument trays. Demonstrates wrapping/containing of instruments/tray.

+ Performs scanning of instrument trays to track location using the SPM system. Demonstrates decontamination process according to policy and procedure. Cleaning of instruments manually using automated cleaners.

Performs tests and documents as directed to ensure proper operation of washers.

+ Demonstrates the proper loading technique for sterilization method. Effectively utilizes infection control concepts. Effectively handles all chemical and cleaning agents used for cleaning, decontamination and sterilization of instruments and equipment.

+ Demonstrates processing and distribution of special medical emergency carts, and Urology carts. Monitors supplies as necessary.
