    Pharmacy Technician

    Job Description

    The Pharmacy Fill Technician is responsible for accurately preparing prescriptions, which includes picking, labeling, scanning, and final preparation for pharmacist verification. The role also involves maintaining an organized workspace and ensuring compliance with regulations.

    Responsibilities

    + Pull and pick medications from shelving and other storage areas.

    + Perform accuracy checks on final preparation before presenting to the pharmacist.

    + Fill daily drug orders accurately, efficiently, and in a timely and prioritized manner under the supervision of a pharmacist.

    + Assist in processing returned drugs and recycle or dispose of them as per procedure.

    + Pre-pack frequently ordered medications, label, and stock as needed during low-volume times.

    + Package materials and products manually.

    + Follow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA.

    + Maintain a clean and organized workstation and replenish stock supplies as needed each shift.

    + Alert the pharmacist on duty of any medication or product that is not scanning properly.

    + Comply with departmental policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress code.

    + Be prepared to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as required or expected.

    + Perform other duties as assigned; job duties may vary depending on business needs.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in filling prescriptions.

    + Pharmacy technician certification.

    + Proficiency in prescription refill and labeling.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + High School diploma or equivalent.

    + Pharmacy technician licenses/certifications as required by state regulations.

    + Previous pharmacy experience (one or more years of long-term care experience preferred).

    + Knowledge of brand name and generic medications.

    + Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

    + Ability to work at a moderate speed.

    + Capability to work during inclement weather.

    + Reliability.

    + Good organizational skills and attention to detail.

    + Analytical and problem-solving skills.

    + Ability to physically perform light lifting.

    + Flexibility to work various shifts and days.

    Work Environment

    The work environment may require overtime, holidays, and weekends. Employees must comply with departmental policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress code. The role requires working at a moderate speed and includes manual packaging of materials and products.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
