Job Title: Medical AssistantJob Description

As a Medical Assistant specializing in wellness, you will play a crucial role in supporting a wellness clinic by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and adding patient demographics to the EMR system. You will coordinate with IPA provider offices and conduct health risk assessment screenings, including taking vitals and administering screening questionnaires. Additionally, you will engage in patient outreach to enhance opportunities for the wellness program.

Responsibilities

+ Conduct health risk assessment screenings, including vitals and screening questionnaires.

+ Perform patient outreach scheduling for the wellness clinic.

+ Reach out to potential patients to expand the wellness program.

Essential Skills

+ Data entry

+ Administrative support

+ Patient outreach

+ Current CPR Certificate required; BLS (AHA)

+ Bilingual in Spanish and English

+ MA Certificate required

+ Current CRT certification

+ Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ NexGen experience is a plus

+ Prefer a minimum of two years of experience in a similar setting, but open to entry-level candidates with the right attitude

+ Working knowledge of basic office programs and internet as related to medical office needs

+ Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records and NexGen systems

+ Comfortable talking to patients

Work Environment

The role is based in a new Covina location, operating Monday to Friday from 8:15 am to 5:00 pm with a 45-minute lunch break. Initially, training will occur in West Covina until the new office opens. The dress code is blue scrubs. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.00/hr.
