    Responsibilities

    + Investigate, develop, and implement activities to reduce machine downtime and optimize process efficiency.

    + Implement process improvements and PM’s to maximize production.

    + Work with Maintenance personnel to assist in troubleshooting.

    + Troubleshoot electrical and PLC problems.

    + Determine possible machine upgrades to further improve production.

    + Support new projects and make recommendations regarding new technology to improve product quality and productivity.

    + Interface with outside machine and automation vendors for the purpose of defining, designing, implementing, troubleshooting, and redefining processes.

    + Communicate with Engineering, Production, and Maintenance Departments at the local and corporate level.

    + Develop electrical and mechanical documentation, design modifications, and programs for equipment.

    + Develop, review, and implement work instructions as needed.

    + Develop training materials and assist with training of the maintenance staff.

    + Ensure that safety standers are met.

    + Attend department and plant meeting and training.

     

    Additional Info

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    + Thorough understanding of facility systems such as material handling, compressors air and chillers water.

    + Strong mechanical/electrical background with excellent troubleshooting skills.

    + Experience with PLC systems.

    + Basic knowledge of computer programming.

    + Must have experience with electrical, mechanical (required), pneumatic, plumbing and HVAC (optional).

    + Experience in plastics processing.

    + Must have the ability to be on-call for any shift as necessary (hours added as worked).

    + Must have knowledge of LOTO and Arc Flash.

    + Ability to read and interpret machine prints.

    + Must have good computer skills.

    + Must have familiarity with most hand and power tools.

    + Self-motivated and work with minimal supervision.

    + High school diploma/GED equivalent.

    + The ability to work with others.

    + Honest, dependable, and motivated.

    + Good problem solving and analytical skills.

    + Have a valid Driver’s license.

    + Must provide own hand tools.

    + Forklift certified.

    + Lift certified.

    + Crane certified.

    + Electrical certified.

    PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS:

    + Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds.

    + Ability to work around grease, oils, and solvents without adverse reactions.

    + Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and squat throughout entire shift.

    + Ability to work from heights, including ascending/descending ladders.

    + Ability to wear all provided personal protective equipment.

    + Ability to work in high noise environment.
