    Northwest Florida Community Hospital (NFCH), in Chipley, FL, is seeking a Full Time experienced, energetic and dedicated Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our team!

     

    Responsible for directing the organization's overall financial policies. Oversees all financial functions including accounting, budget, insurance, tax, and cash flow. Plans and directs all aspects of the organization's operational policies, objectives, initiatives. Designs and coordinates a wide variety of financial and operational data and reports.

    Education

    Bachelor degree required; masters degree preferred; in finance, accounting, health or public administration, or related field

    Experience:

    A minimum of three (3) years executive management and finance experience; healthcare preferred. Work record that demonstrates in-depth knowledge of hospital and home health operations, knowledge of medical terminology, negotiating skills, and knowledge of healthcare industry key performance indicators.

    + Certified Public Accountant

    Positive interpersonal communication; demonstrate leadership abilities; public speaking skills; attention to details.

     

    Knowledge of industry statistics; work independently with minimal direct supervision.

    Close working relationship with physicians and organization staff. Occasional contacts with external agencies, including auditors, Agency for Health Care Administration, insurance companies and professional medical staff of other facilities. Regular contact with Board members of Northwest Florida Community Hospital and other community leaders

    Must have the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care as defined by job responsibilities and performance standards in this job description to include Patient Safety Performance Standards for the identified population served below:

    + Pre-term/High Risk Neonate

    + Neonate (newborn to 28 days)

    + Pediatric (One month to 12 years)

    + Young Adult (18 to 35 years)

    + Adult (35 to 65 years)

    + Geriatric (65 years and over)

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF COMPETENT PERFORMANCE FOR THIS POSITION

    + Responsible for directing the accounting functions; includes establishing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives. Responsible for planning and directing ledger accounts, financial statements, and cost control systems

    + Directs and oversees competitive financial analysis and statistical studies. Reviews reports on historical and future trends in performance, return and depreciation to determine appropriate paths for financial development. Reviews forecasts for a variety of departments and business opportunities. Heads corporate function which provides financial oversight, leadership and support.

    + Oversees all aspects of the organization's budgeting function. Responsible for coordinating budgeting procedures for collecting and analyzing an annual budget plan. Evaluates the organization's actual performance to set budget. Makes adjustments as necessary

    + Provides managerial leadership to functions that contribute to the billing and collection of patient service revenue. Monitors the principals and practices of patient accounting, insurance reimbursement, governmental and other payer source billing, and collections

    + Responsible for the direction and management of the organization's cash flow activities. These activities include procurement, custody, and investment of funds to maximize consistent investment activities

    + Directs and administers day-to-day activities of hospital's operations in accordance with established policies to provide high quality health care services.

    + Ensures economical and efficient organizational and departmental performance under guidance of hospital's goals, objectives, and operating budget. Makes adjustments and/or recommendations as required.

    + Establishes, plans, and administers the overall policies and goals for information technology. Analyzes the needs of departments and establishes priorities for feasibility studies, systems design and implementation to develop new and/or modify the company's information processing systems.

    + Directs and oversees an organization's planning function to promote organizational effectiveness. Works with the top management to provide broad-based strategic thought leadership on a variety of business topics. Leads the preparation of quarterly business updates, Board presentations, and other critical business updates.

    + Plans and directs all aspects of the organization's business development policies, objectives, and initiatives. Conducts financial feasibility studies and develops proposals for new business opportunities. Accountable for licensing initiatives and programs; duties include negotiating contracts, initiating proposals, and closing deals.

    + Commits to outstanding guest relations and customer service; promotes the Commitment to Caring program in an effort to meet the expectations of patients, visitors, and fellow associates; maintains courteous and professional conduct.

    + Supports and promotes the Mission, Vision, and Values; adheres to all Health System policies and procedures; commits to the Standards of Conduct; maintains professional appearance

    + Communicates with staff; conducts regular departmental meetings to inform staff; stays accessible to staff and provides assistance, education and/or training if necessary; keeps Administration informed of departmental issues.

    + Implements new and innovative ways to reduce cost or increase productivity; increases working knowledge of CPSI system; improves departmental customer service standards

    + Demonstrates a strong commitment to budget guidelines; participates in the budget process; recommends methods to increase revenue or decrease costs; maintains current CDM (if applicable); complies with billing requirements.

    + Participates in Health System activities; takes initiative in Process Improvement; promotes the Health System throughout the community; enforces Health System policies; exhibits leadership qualities.
