Job Overview:
The Color Clerk is a Union role. The workday shall start 1.5 hours before the first post (i.e. the start of the first race) and end .5-hour after the last post (i.e. the start of the last race). Employees may clock in no earlier than 7 (seven) minutes before the start of their shift. As an example, if the first race starts at l :00 pm, the earliest an employee may clock in is at 11 :23 am.
Essential Functions:
+ The essential functions of this role include:
+ Cataloguing, storing and maintaining up to 5,000 different racing silks for all owners
+ Distributing the silks to the proper horses during the races
+ Supplying the jockeys with the proper silks to wear
+ Ensuring that the jockeys actually wear the proper silks for each horse and each race
+ Laundering the silks
+ Washing the girths and the saddle pads after each race
+ Shipping the silks to all three tracks
Qualifications:
+ General horsemanship
+ Knowledge of racing
+ Ability to work a racing schedule
+ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

+ Continuous movement throughout the day
Pay Range / Salary: $210.10/daily
