    COMPENSATION INFORMATION

    The salary range(s) represents our good faith estimate for the role at this time. While we strive to provide competitive and transparent compensation, there may be circumstances where an offer is above or outside of the listed range. We are open to discussing salary expectations with qualified candidates considering factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, experience and geographic location will all be considered during the hiring process.

     

    Lead Regulatory Affairs Engagement Coordinator | Pay Range: $95,200.00 - $123,700.00

     

    Senior Regulatory Affairs Engagement Coordinator | Pay Range: $85,800.00 - $109,450.00

    Southwest Power Pool (SPP) is seeking talented professionals to join our Regulatory Policy team as either a **Lead** or **Senior Regulatory Affairs Engagement Coordinator** . These roles are critical to SPP’s mission of ensuring reliable and affordable electricity by fostering strong, strategic relationships with state regulatory agencies across both our Eastern and Western footprints.

    What You'll Do

     

    As the **Lead Coordinator** , you will serve as the principal architect of SPP’s state regulatory outreach strategy and a key advisor to senior leadership. You’ll lead planning and execution of commission engagement activities, support executive communications, and ensure alignment between internal policy goals and external regulatory expectations.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Lead the development and execution of strategic outreach plans to state commissions and stakeholders.

    + Coordinate high-level regulatory meetings, education sessions, and technical forums.

    + Serve as the main escalation point for complex engagement issues.

    + Mentor and guide Senior and Coordinator-level team members.

    + Oversee briefing materials, talking points, agendas, and regulatory correspondence.

    + Maintain quality and consistency across all outward-facing communications.

    + Represent SPP’s Regulatory Policy team in cross-functional initiatives and working groups.

    + Track and respond to state regulatory developments, keeping internal teams informed.

     

    As a **Senior Coordinator** , you’ll play a strategic role in executing SPP’s regulatory engagement efforts—managing state commission outreach, coordinating executive-level engagements, and translating technical initiatives into clear, actionable messaging for external stakeholders.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Lead and coordinate outreach to state commissions on key regulatory initiatives and filings.

    + Build and maintain trusted relationships with commissioners and commission staff.

    + Monitor and analyze state-level policy developments and advise internal stakeholders.

    + Prepare executive briefings, presentations, and tailored communication materials.

    + Maintain a real-time tracker for regulatory engagement and follow-up actions.

    + Summarize docket updates and commission proceedings for internal leadership.

    + Provide informal mentorship and support alignment across the team.

    To be successful

    + Bachelor’s degree in public policy, communications, business, political science, or a related field.

    + Lead: Six (6) plus years of experience in a regulatory, government affairs, public policy, or stakeholder engagement role. within or adjacent to the utility, energy, or public sector industries.

    + Senior: Five (5) plus years of experience in a regulatory, government affairs, public policy, or stakeholder engagement role. within or adjacent to the utility, energy, or public sector industries.

    + Deep understanding of state utility commission structures and RTO landscapes.

    + Proven ability to lead initiatives, coordinate complex workflows, and manage cross-departmental deliverables.

    + Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.

    + Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft executive correspondence and distill complex topics.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with regulatory tracking or docket systems.

    + Excellent interpersonal and professional communication skills, with the ability to represent the organization effectively in cross-functional settings and with external stakeholders.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); ability to manage schedules and shared documentation platform

    + Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

    + Professionalism and discretion when interacting with external partners.

    Preferred:

    + Master's degree

    + Experience with utility regulation, state commissions, or RTO/ISO stakeholder processes.

    + Familiarity with SPP’s governance structure, stakeholder groups, and cost allocation, resource adequacy, or transmission planning processes.

    + Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple priorities with competing deadlines.

    Position Type, Location, and Expected Hours of Work:

    + This is a full-time, hybrid onsite position located in Little Rock, Arkansas. The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional extended hours as needed.

    Travel Requirement:

    + This position requires minimal travel.
