Position Summary:
Reporting to the Head Coach, Football, the Strength and Conditioning Coach is supports the football program by designing and implementing strength and conditioning protocols to include nutrition, rehabilitation, and injury prevention, and serves as a staff member of the program.
The position requires frequent travel, as well as evening and weekend hours.
Essential Functions:
Leads the design, implementation, and evaluation of year-round strength, speed, and conditioning programs tailored to the physiological demands of Division I football.
Integrates sports performance technology and analytics to optimize individual and team performance, recovery, and workload management.
Develops individualized training and nutrition plans based on performance metrics, behavioral assessments, and injury history to enhance student-athlete development.
Collaborates with athletic training and medical staff to support injury prevention, return-to-play protocols, and long-term player health.
Oversees daily data entry and analysis of performance testing, training loads, and nutritional assessments to inform programming decisions.
Provides instruction on proper lifting techniques, safety protocols, and exercise progressions to ensure efficient and injury-free performance in the weight room.
Supervises safe, professional operation of the strength & conditioning facility, ensuring compliance with NCAA , Patriot League, and university policies.
Contributes to recruiting efforts by presenting the performance program to prospective student-athletes and their families.
Creates educational content and workshops for student-athletes on topics such as recovery, fueling strategies, and performance habits.
Travels with the football team to deliver on-site performance support during games and postseason competition.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Health/Physical Education or a related field and a minimum of 5 years’ experience required or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
National Strength and Conditioning Association ( NSCA ) certification, or Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach ( CSCC ) certification.
CPR and First Aid certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
Further certification within USAW , Precision Nutrition, PICP , FRC , and FMS is strongly encouraged.
Experience with an NCAA football program, preferably Division I football program.
Minimum Salary: $100,000
Maximum Salary: $112,000
