About the Role: Assistant Director of Nursing
As an Assistant Director of Nursing, you’ll play a key role in supporting the health, happiness, and daily experience of the residents at Edgewater in West Des Moines.
As an Assistant Director of Nursing, you will:
+ **Lead and optimize nursing staff operations** by developing schedules, training and mentoring employees, delegating responsibilities, and fostering professional growth through regular feedback and evaluations.
+ **Shape the care environment** by developing and updating clinical policies and procedures, coordinating care with other departments, and enhancing the overall quality and continuity of resident care.
+ **Serve as a vital resident advocate** —evaluating healthcare needs, facilitating care planning with families, and ensuring physical, emotional, and social well-being are prioritized.
+ **Drive quality assurance and compliance** by overseeing infection control, conducting in-service training, and supporting survey readiness and regulatory inspections.
+ **Be a hands-on leader** —providing leadership support in the absence of the Director of Nursing, guiding restorative nursing efforts, and stepping in as needed to support team success.
Open Shifts Available:
+ Full-time, Monday–Friday (8:00am–5:00pm) with flexible hours; rotating on-call schedule including one weekend every third week
Qualifications:
+ Knowledgeable in nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care
+ Strong supervisory and leadership skills
+ State of Iowa RN License
