    Summary

    **SUMMARY:** Provides advanced administrative support in the payment posting function, including posting, documentation, record-keeping, reconciliation and research.

    **DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:** NOTE:The following are the duties performed by employees in this classification, however, employees may perform other related duties at an equivalent level. Not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each individual in the classification.

    1. Postsallinsuranceandpatientpaymentsintheformatofcash, checks,creditcardsandelectronicallytransferredfundstopatientaccounts;posts insurancerecoupment's; notes bothaccountswithrecoupmentdetails.

    2. Assistsinthemonthendclosingbypostingappropriateinformation tothe AR.

    3. Balancestodaily/monthlybatchdeposits.

    4. Countsandverifiesthebalanceofthesafedaily.

    5. Logsandforwardscashspreadsheetstoappropriate leadershipdaily.

    6. Opens,counts,verifiesandpreparesdepositsforco-paysandcafeteriafundsreceived;maintainsAlcolinkSpreadsheetfordepositsasneeded.

    7. Researchesandresolvesunidentifiedpaymentsandmanuallypostspaymentstothe appropriateaccountsfromtheerror/exceptionreport.

    8. Researchescomplexissuesutilizinginternalandexternalresourcesandcontacts.

    9. StorespermanentEOB/RA'seitherthroughpaperorscan.

    10. Maintains Excelspreadsheetandbalancepaymentspostedtodaily/monthlydeposits.

    11. Verifies,balancesandprepares cash/checksfordeposit.

    12. Reverses/transfers payments /contractual/ adjustmentsornotifiestheappropriateunittoinitiatearefund.

    13. Performs other duties as required.

    **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:** Required Education:HighSchooldiplomaorGED. Required Experience:Cash Posting Specialist II orone year of experience in the class of Cash Posting Specialist I or in an equivalent or higher clerical class with Alameda Health System orthe equivalent of two years experience performing banking or cash posting functions. Preferred Experience:PostingpaymentsinaMedicalOffice.

     

    _PAY RANGE: $36.85/HR_

     

    _The pay range for this position reflects the base pay scale for the role at Alameda Health System. Final compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licenses and certifications, departmental equity, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and the operational needs of the organization.
