### Job Duties
Program Development & Outreach (25%)
• Develop, implement, and manage a robust home preservation and repairs program aligned with Itasca County Habitat for Humanity's strategic goals and budget.
• Conduct proactive community outreach to identify eligible homeowners and assess repair needs within Itasca County, focusing on underserved populations and critical home repair situations.
• Research, develop, and implement, in collaboration with the Executive Director and Board, a possible "Age in Place" program to help older adults remain safely and independently in their homes.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with community organizations, local government agencies, social service providers, and other stakeholders to identify potential clients and program partnerships.
• Market the home preservation and repair program through various channels, including presentations, community events, digital media, and printed materials.
• Develop and manage a streamlined application and intake process for homeowners seeking assistance, ensuring equitable access and compliance with program guidelines.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of all outreach activities, applications, and client interactions.
Project Management & Construction (40%)
• Conduct thorough site assessments, including detailed inspections, scope of work development, material estimations, and project timelines for all approved home repair projects.
• Prioritize repair projects based on urgency, safety concerns, and alignment with program goals.
• Oversee all phases of home repair projects, including scheduling, material procurement, quality control, and adherence to safety standards and building codes.
• Perform hands-on repair work as needed, demonstrating proficiency in various construction trades (e.g., carpentry, plumbing, electrical, roofing, drywall, painting).
• Manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effective use of resources.
• Coordinate and oversee the work of subcontractors when necessary, ensuring quality and adherence to specifications.
• Ensure proper permitting and inspections are obtained and completed for all applicable projects.
• Implement and enforce all Habitat for Humanity safety policies and procedures on job sites.
• Assist as a site supervisor on new home builds as needed and provide direct support to the Construction Manager.
Volunteer Leadership & Engagement (25%)
• Recruit, train, supervise, and inspire diverse groups of volunteers (skilled and unskilled) for home repair and preservation projects.
• Provide clear and effective instruction, guidance, and supervision to volunteers, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
• Delegate tasks appropriately, ensuring volunteers are engaged, feel valued, and are working safely and efficiently.
• Serve as a knowledgeable resource for volunteers, answering questions and providing hands-on demonstrations.
• Recognize and appreciate volunteer contributions, promoting a strong sense of teamwork and accomplishment.
• Develop and deliver safety briefings and construction-related training sessions for volunteers.
Administrative & Reporting (10%)
• Maintain comprehensive and accurate project files, including contracts, permits, volunteer hours, material receipts, and photo documentation.
• Track key program metrics, prepare regular reports on program progress, outcomes, and challenges for the Executive Director and Board of Directors.
• Manage and maintain an inventory of tools and equipment, ensuring their proper use, storage, and maintenance.
• Assist with grant applications and reporting as they relate to home preservation and repair initiatives.
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and organizational events as required.
• Adhere to all Itasca County Habitat for Humanity policies and procedures.
### Minimum Education Required
High School
### Minimum Experience Required
• Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in residential construction, remodeling, or home repair, with a strong understanding of various building trades.
• Proven experience in project management, including budgeting, scheduling, and quality control.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and train diverse groups of volunteers, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and construction plans.
• Knowledge of local building codes and safety regulations.
• Valid Minnesota Driver's License and a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work in various weather conditions, and perform physically demanding tasks inherent in construction.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable with learning new software.
