The Stryker Cary Onboarding Rotation Experience (SCORE) Program lasts 1.5 years where participants will experience 3 six-month engineering rotations as part of the core program, with an optional additional rotation for 6 months as an Associate Sales Rep (ASR) to gain field experience should they choose to opt in. This program is designed specifically for highly talented engineers who are looking for exposure to and experience in different disciplines of engineering. Participants will be immersed into new product development (design engineering), quality, product testing, and so much more. Each individuals’ rotations are tailored to fit their passion and skill sets along with current business needs. SCORE engineers will not only gain a broad knowledge of our Research & Development functions but will also have the opportunity to attend additional leadership and personal development trainings, seminars and product labs. The SCORE Engineering program also offers exposure to senior leadership with end of rotation presentations, townhalls and small group forums. Upon successful completion of the program, participants will be placed into a role within Stryker Cary R&D.

Rotation Information
As a program participant, graduates will experience 3 six-month rotations, with an optional 6-month Associate Sales Rep rotation to gain field experience, and be placed on one of the following teams for each rotation:
• Advanced Quality Engineering (AQE)
AQE plays a critical role in Stryker that partners with New Product Development (NPD) teams to ensure the overall quality of a manufactured product.
Engineering Services Lab team supports our R&D engineering and scientific teams through prototyping and testing. This exciting work includes a wide variety of prototyping methods, test method development, test fixture development, test automation, material characterization and 3rd party test coordination. We work closely with our project teams to stay ahead of their needs while working with our technician team to execute those requests. This is a hands-on technical role in the part of our R&D department that houses a wide variety of the latest technology to support our initiatives.
NPD has the responsibility to understand a problem identified by our Market Intelligence (MI) team and then develop simple innovative solutions. They begin by creating rough prototypes and then quickly refine them throughout our development process as we continuously integrate the feedback our MI team collects. They are responsible for product development from Research through Launch.
AO creates future-proof tailored supply chain solutions for new products that are scalable, have high quality standards, and meet cost expectations. This team is passionate to unleash new, differentiated product features and greater innovation speed as they jointly
challenge our process and seek new disruptive technologies. In short, the AO team partners with NPD and Operations to bring products from concept to commercialization.
Responsibilities
• Provide engineering support for new product and process introductions, ensuring that all activities are completed and documented in accordance with the Stryker new product development procedures.
• Ensure quality of process and product as defined in the appropriate operation and material specifications.
• Determine and implement design approaches and parameters and conduct feasibility studies on new designs.
• Hold active role in New Product Development team discussions. Provide engineering input on key topics to reduce time to market.
• Analyze equipment to establish operating data, conduct experimental tests and evaluate the results.
• Select components and equipment based on analysis of specifications, reliability, and regulatory requirements.
• Aid in the development process by ensuring designs are cost efficient, manufacturable, and reliable.
• May assist in evaluating vendor capability to support development.
• Submit periodic reports on assigned topics to manager/supervisor/mentor.
• Present to team members and leadership on accomplishments during each six-month rotation
• May interact with customers to resolve product issues.
• All other duties as assigned.
What you need
• B.S or M.S. in Electrical, Software, Computer or Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline; we will only consider candidates with December 2023 or spring of 2024 graduation dates
• 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA (or equivalent)
• This role is not eligible for Visa sponsorship from Stryker
• Self-starter with demonstrated efficient work methods, analytical & problem-solving skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• The individual should enjoy working in a fast paced, dynamic and results orientated team environment
• Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively work cross-functionally and externally as required
• Basic knowledge of engineering fundamentals
• Must be able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and have the ability to understand geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing.
• Experience in an FDA regulated or regulated industry beneficial.
• High level of PC Skills required.
• Excellent attention to detail.
