About the Role
We are seeking a strategic and innovative leader to serve as the Director of Data Strategy & Data Products within our People Analytics team. This role will be responsible for defining and executing our data strategy across the employee lifecycle, ensuring high-quality, well-modeled, and ethically managed data sets that will yield actionable insights across HR and the enterprise. This role will also manage the strategy and design around our suite of data products, such as Visier, PowerBI dashboards, etc… This role will serve as a critical bridge between HR, IT, Legal, and business stakeholders, owning the end-to-end roadmap for HR data flows and analytical product delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Data Strategy & Architecture
+ Develop and lead the strategy for data architecture, flow, and integration across HR systems and platforms as it pertains to reporting & analytics.
+ Partner closely with IT and Enterprise Architecture teams to ensure HR data is scalable, aligned, and secure.
+ Define standards for data acquisition, ingestion, transformation, and storage in alignment with enterprise frameworks.
Data Governance, Privacy & Ethics
+ Serve as the People Analytics lead for data privacy, compliance, and ethical use of employee data.
+ Partner with our HR Data Governance team to develop and maintain internal data use policies and ensure compliance with relevant laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
+ Act as liaison with Workplace Practice, Legal, Compliance, and Risk on data-related policies and reviews.
Data Products & Tools
+ Own the vision, strategy, and execution for People Analytics data products including dashboards, reports, and advanced analytics platforms.
+ Lead the deployment and evolution of the Visier platform for self-service analytics.
+ Partner with the HR Reporting team on the development and maintenance of PowerBI dashboards and other internal tools used by HR and business leaders.
Leadership & Collaboration
+ Influence stakeholders across HR, IT, and the business to adopt and sustain high data quality and analytical rigor.
+ Champion a culture of responsible data use, insight-driven decision making, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent required
+ 10+ years of work experience required
+ 8+ years of experience in data strategy, data governance, or people analytics, with at least 3 in a people leadership role.
+ Deep understanding of HR data, data flows, and privacy considerations.
+ Strong experience with enterprise analytics platforms (Visier preferred) and BI tools (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau).
+ Proven experience in cross-functional partnership, especially with IT/Architecture teams.
+ Familiarity with privacy laws and data ethics frameworks.
+ Excellent communication and influencing skills, with ability to operate strategically and tactically.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience in the Med-Tech, Pharma, or Life Sciences industry.
+ Technical understanding of data warehousing, data modeling, or API integrations.
+ Previous ownership of HR system or analytics platform implementations.
