Summary About the Position: Section Chief for Inleasing Branch, Real Estate Division, Principal Advisor and Consultant to the Chief, Inleasing Branch, Real Estate Division on all technical Real Estate matters associated with Real Estate inleasing projects through the District. Responsibilities Exercise administrative and technical supervision over Section employees and contract employees. Plan work to be accomplished by the Section; set and adjust short-term priorities; assign work based on priorities, difficulty and requirements of the assignment, and capabilities of individual employees. Interview candidate for positions in the Section and recommend appointment, promotion, or reassignment to such positions. Resolve complaints from employees, referring more serious, unresolved complaints to Chief, Inleasing Branch, Real Estate Division. Search for ways to eliminate or reduce bottlenecks, promote team building, and improve business practices. Serve as Point-of-Contact and authoritative source of information and advice to Chief, Inleasing Branch, Real Estate Division and to the district staff elements regarding technical real estate issues involving the Section. Plan, organize and monitor key features of ongoing projects to assure customer priorities are met. Monitor Section budget and obtain clearances, authorizations, and funds when required. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes working at a senior level overseeing, reviewing and providing guidance and instruction on real estate issues, policies, and changes impacting real estate management; exercising administration and technical supervision over employees to manage the development of overall goals and objectives. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-12. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Accountability Leadership Oral Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. This position requires you to submit a Public Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 278) or a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
