    Description

    Tyto Athene is searching for a **Senior Cloud Engineer** to support U.S. Southern Command on the SCITES II Contract in Doral, Florida.

     

    The Senior Cloud Engineer designs, deploys, and manages cloud-based infrastructure to support USSOUTHCOM’s mission-critical operations. This role ensures compliance, automation, scalability, and performance of cloud-based infrastructure. This role ensures mission-critical services and infrastructure are robust, compliant, and aligned with cloud and cybersecurity best practices.

    Responsibilities:

    + Develops and integrates cloud solutions, ensuring scalability, security, and high availability across hybrid and multi-cloud environments

    + Implements automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and cloud-native technologies to optimize performance and operational efficiency

    + Monitors, troubleshoots, and resolves complex cloud infrastructure issues, applying advanced diagnostics and security measures to protect cloud resources

    + Leads cloud migration initiatives, working with stakeholders to modernize legacy systems and integrate emerging technologies

    + Executes lifecycle management of cloud environments, aligning operations with cybersecurity, disaster recovery, and continuity of operations (COOP) strategies

    + Conducts security assessments, compliance audits, and performance optimizations to maintain adherence to DoD regulations and industry best practices

    + Provides Tier 3 and Tier 4 technical support, mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance cloud operations

    + Develops cloud governance frameworks, implements cost optimization strategies, and ensures seamless integration with enterprise systems

    + Supports mission-critical applications by delivering secure, resilient, and scalable cloud services.

    Qualifications

    Required:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field

    + 10+ years of experience in enterprise IT, with at least 3 in cloud operations or architecture

    + Strong experience with Azure Gov or DoD-authorized cloud platforms

    + Demonstrated experience with cloud security, networking, and automation tools

    Desired:

    + Master’s degree in related field

    + Experience with Kubernetes, DevSecOps pipelines, and CI/CD toolchains

    + Familiarity with Zero Trust principles and identity federation

    + Cloud Security certifications

    + VMware Certified Advance Professional

    + ITILv4 Foundations

    + CompTIA Cloud **Clearance:**

    + Secret clearance required with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI

    Certification:

    + DoD 8570 Baseline & CE certifications are required for all positions and may vary slightly depending on the skillset required to perform the role

    + CompTIA Security+ CE

    + CISSP or CASP+ Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or equivalent

    + ITIL v4 Foundations
