    Summary You will serve as a OFFICE AUTOMATION ASSISTANT in the NAVSAFECOM. Responsibilities You will act as the primary Command Pay and Personnel Administrator providing support to service members, both staff and students, in accordance with the Military Personnel Manual. You will coordinate with multiple external customers to establish quota availability and annual class schedules. You will maintain student files and records, following prescribed procedures and systems established by the Department of Navy. You will verify data reports via the Monitoring Tool in CeTARS ensuring accuracy of student inputs, throughput and statistical information. You will respond to inquiries from outside commands and prospective students on billeting contacts, travel, administrative requirements, and student logistics requirements. You will prepare and manage a wide variety of correspondence, reports, naval messages, etc. from rough drafts or brief instructions. You will ensure all paperwork is suitable for signature, publication and distribution to internal and external users Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-06) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience includes duties related to the following: Demonstrating current proficiency in Corporate Enterprise Training Activity Systems (CeTARS), BUPERS Online, NSIPS, TOPS/CPPA requirements and in SalesForce functions; Coordinating work with other offices within the command and being able to recognize the need for such coordination in various circumstances; Working knowledge of Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) and US Navy and Department of Defense administrative policies; Producing finished correspondence, reports, briefs, etc. free of typographical errors using word processing equipment to produce typed material; Understanding and working knowledge of the organizational structure, mission, policies and instructions of the Naval Safety Command, and higher headquarters to perform the full range of administrative support duties. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
