    Summary You will serve as a Shipbuilding Specialist in the DDG Dockers CTL Branch (320.1), Combatant Division (320), Waterfront Operations Department (300), Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC) of MID ATLANTIC REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CTR. Responsibilities You will utilize knowledge of principles, concepts and practices related to surface combatant ships, carrier and submarine repair and overhaul programs. You will review military and commercial specifications and standards, Naval drawings, shipbuilding repair practices and industrial processes to ensure workmanship and documentation are in compliance with contract requirements. You will analyze contractor reports and provide detailed statements of work estimates including labor and material requirements. You will apply knowledge of automated data processing equipment and software programs for work preparation for shipbuilding, ship repair and modernizations availabilities. You will prepare technical writing documents such as detailed reports, recommendations, planning agendas and correspondence concerning labor conditions, production costs, method, processes and materials related to ship repair. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience utilizing various contractor/government systems and procedures for cost estimating, labor, and planning; Experience reviewing and evaluating contractor's proposals and condition reports for recommendations; Experience applying the most recent and up to date contractual procedures; Experience accomplishing ship inspections, evaluating dry-docking or waterborne area consideration; Experience performing ship check of contractor prepared work specifications; Experience providing shop and ship oversight monitoring of contracted work.
