    Building and Grounds Attendant

    Summary

    Under direct supervision the **Building and Grounds Attendent** keeps a prescribed area in a clean and orderly condition, performing any combination of duties involved in cleaning the premises.

    Responsibilities

    + Clean washrooms, furniture and other building cleaning

    + Move office furniture, equipment and supplies when called upon

    + Performs duties in the maintenance of project grounds

    + Keep public area sidewalks clear of debris and snow

    + Dispose of trash and other waste materials

    + Mow lawns using hand or power mowers

    + Spread fertilizer, trim hedges and shrubbery, prune trees, maintain ditches and road embankments

    + Perform general cleanup work along roads and parking area

    + Perform all types of common labor

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    + Should have knowledge of building cleaning and grounds maintenance

    Hourly rates for union-represented employees are collectively bargained by theNew York Power Authorityand IBEW. The negotiated pay rate for this position is$22.97 per hour.
