As our Deputy General Counsel Labor & Employment you will report to the our Executive Vice President & General Counsel. On a given day, you will: Principal Legal Advisor for our global labor and employment issues to provide comprehensive legal support across the enterprise. Communicate with the Business Division Counsel to ensure our labor and employment goals are supported by Legal. Coordinate employment litigation matters globally to ensure senior leadership is advised on risks affecting the business. Provide strategic guidance on global employment matters. This includes advising on compliance requirements, employment agreements, employee administration, HR policies, claims and dispute resolution. Collaborate with the HR team to shape the legal aspects of employment strategy and ensuring it aligns with JBT Marel goals. Address and resolve existing legal issues, anticipate future challenges, and support global employment legal team in different matters. Ensure compliance with global labor and employment laws and regulations across the Business Divisions and Operating Units in different countries including navigating issues related to international labor relations, anti-corruption laws like the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), and Works Council compliance. Manage labor and employment litigation and disputes including overseeing litigation, managing external counsel, responding to demand letters, and handling administrative or governmental inquiries related to labor and employment matters. Work with the Global Mobility Team to ensure that all immigration issues including relocation, travel or otherwise are managed centrally. Work the Employee Benefits and Total Rewards team to advise on issues affecting compensation and corporate benefit plans Develop and deliver training on labor, employment, and compliance issues to educate employees and management on relevant labor laws, employment policies, and compliance best practices to foster an ethical and legally compliant work environment. Collaborate with the Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer to ensure compliance with data protection laws concerning employee data. Requirements for the role Juris Doctorate (or comparable) degree from an ABA accredited law school. Admission to the bar in at least one state. Minimum of 10 years of experience providing legal services supporting businesses with global sales and manufacturing operations Large law firm experience with a global impact - in relevant practice areas (corporate, M&A, litigation, labor & employment) Experience with Global Manufacturing Entities Ability to manage a legal team and collaborate across corporate departments (such as tax, treasury, human resources, financial reporting and internal audit). Proven track record in managing complex legal issues. Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future. Travel & Location This position is onsite with flexibility to work from home on occasion.
