The Director of Data Architecture is a hands-on leadership role dedicated to designing a business-focused data warehouse architecture, guided by robust policies, principles, and guidelines that align with broader data management, data governance, and data quality standards. This leader collaborates across the business to create an industry-leading data warehouse infrastructure, one that measures performance across all aspects of the company’s operations while ensuring the highest standards of data quality.
In addition to technical excellence, this position provides strategic direction and day-to-day leadership to a team of data architecture and PowerBI developers, fostering collaboration, skill development, and high performance. The Director is also responsible for managing offshore contract resources, ensuring effective coordination, quality control, and delivery across geographically dispersed teams.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Translate business requirements into usable enterprise information, including enterprise data models, common business vocabularies, and taxonomies to guide solution development and maintain consistency of information assets across the application portfolio.
+ Develop and implement strategies for data acquisition, archival, recovery, and database implementation, with special attention to maintaining and improving data quality.
+ Provide end-to-end architectural accountability for developing and refining enterprise architecture for data warehousing, analytics, and business intelligence purposes.
+ Oversee the creation and administration of enterprise-level data warehouses, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and completeness.
+ Develop and maintain formal descriptions of data and data structures, including data models, data flow diagrams, data dictionaries, technical metadata, and data quality documentation.
+ Create source-to-target mapping documents, capturing application data elements for ETL and data warehouse loading, with a focus on mapping data quality requirements and controls.
+ Design, maintain , and optimize ETL packages and manage an end-to-end integration strategy that incorporates comprehensive data quality checks and validation processes.
+ Stay current with emerging data and analytics technologies and data quality tools to continually enhance architectural solutions.
+ Define and develop reusable data architecture deliverables, artifacts, and foundational building blocks (conceptual, logical, and physical models), ensuring data quality standards are embedded throughout.
+ Provide thought leadership in analyzing and profiling data, developing and applying methods to assess, monitor , and improve data quality; support Data Analysts and other stakeholders in implementing data quality initiatives.
+ Apply advanced analytical techniques to identify patterns, anomalies, and data quality issues in large datasets, recommending solutions for improvement.
+ Leverage data analysis findings to provide actionable recommendations and design solutions that enhance data management processes, reduce redundancy, and resolve data quality issues.
+ Support and lead data governance and data quality audits within assigned domains, proactively identifying and addressing compliance and quality issues to ensure alignment with business objectives .
+ Effectively communicate through data storytelling, using visualizations with PowerBI and other tools to highlight data quality trends, issues, and improvements.
+ Lead, mentor, and inspire a multidisciplinary team of data architecture and PowerBI developers, setting clear goals, facilitating knowledge sharing, and fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.
+ Manage offshore contract resources, coordinating project assignments, monitoring deliverables, and ensuring seamless integration of offshore contributions into the overall data architecture and analytics strategy.
TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS
+ 10+ years of Microsoft Azure SQL experience
+ 10+ years of data warehouse experience
+ 10+ years of hands-on data modeling and data architecture experience
+ Minimum 5 years of advanced technical skills writing APIs
+ Minimum 5 years of advanced technical skills in SQL Server Database Management
+ Extensive knowledge of Data Warehousing, ETL, BI architectures, and data quality concepts and frameworks
+ Minimum 5 years of experience with Microsoft PowerBI
+ Expertise in creating and optimizing Semantic layer Reporting Views
+ Proven ability to facilitate data discovery sessions with business subject matter experts, with a focus on data quality assessment
+ Familiarity with metadata ingestion, translation, and data quality metadata management
+ Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics , Computer Science, Information Management, or Statistics
+ Experience in product development with web applications and/or Windows forms applications
+ Outstanding database design and technical writing skills
+ Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating a proactive approach to assignments and data quality improvement
+ Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact across all levels of the organization
+ Experience in the real estate domain is desired
+ Demonstrated experience establishing , monitoring, and enforcing data quality standards and processes
+ Previous experience managing and developing technical teams, including onshore and offshore resources, is highly valued.
