• Continuous Improvement Specialist

    Rise Baking Company (York, PA)


    Job Purpose

     

    Successfully execute performance improvements across the York facility. Serve as a data analysis and operations resource to deliver improved plant performance through training, process improvement, and appropriate continuous improvement activities.

    Essential Functions

    + Support the continuous improvement program and all operational and workplace organization standards

    + Utilize appropriate continuous improvement methodologies to optimize asset and employee effectiveness

    + Support and/or implement reliability improvement plans for manufacturing assets

    + Develop and maintain reporting systems that allow data driven decisions and identify necessary improvement activities

    + Provide operational expertise for capital projects to ensure commitments are met

    + Support new product commercialization initiatives for operations

    + Oversee cost improvement efforts including manufacturing/operations, warehouse, and planning departments

    + Support plant leadership in annual operating and capital plan development

    + Facilitate training to leadership and associates for key problem-solving/continuous improvement methodology tools

    + Assist team in creating and sustaining an environment of continuous improvement and fact-based decision making

    + Support food safety program, quality standards, and legality of manufactured products

    + Comply with all food safety requirements, training, policies, and procedures

    + Perform other job-related duties as assigned

     

    Qualifications (Education/Experience)

     

    + High school diploma required; college degree in business or science preferred

    + 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or distribution required; experience in food manufacturing preferred

    + Experience with training and coaching problem solving and continuous improvement methods

    + Complex problem solving and critical thinking skills

    + Excellent computer skills including MS office, statistical analysis and project management tools

    + Strong written and verbal communication skills

    + Strong knowledge of product quality, FDA, OSHA and EPA regulations
