Textile Designer and Technologist
Key Role:
Applies materials science and engineering principles to develop, process, and test materials to create solutions that meet specific technical and performance criteria, utilizing a systems engineering approach and engineering tools, including DE and physical to optimize material selection and improve manufacturing processes. Applies specific functional knowledge and general industry knowledge. Develops or contributes to solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Works independently with some guidance and may review or guide activities of more junior employees.
Basic Qualifications:
+ 2+ years of experience with the textile product development process from inception through production, including construction, pattern making, grading, materials, print techniques, manufacturing and quality
+ Experience in translating client requirements to textile products
+ Experience with sewing
+ Knowledge of the various sewing machines needed to execute production
+ Knowledge of MS Office and Adobe Cloud Illustrator or Photoshop tools
+ Knowledge of PLM systems for workflow management and technical documentation
+ Ability to think strategically and make decisions grounded in technical depth
+ Secret clearance
+ Bachelor's degree in Apparel Design, Pattern Making or Textile Science
Additional Qualifications:
+ Experience working with cross-functional teams including various forms of engineers
+ Experience with designing and manufacturing textile components for military products
+ Experience working with factories and full understanding of equipment, garment cutting, sewing, and QA and QC process
+ Experience in 3D design tools such as Browzwear or CLO
+ Knowledge of government specifications such as P/Ds, MIL-DTLs and MIL-PRFs
Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $69,400.00 to $158,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
