**The University of Washington School of Medicine’s** **_Office of Graduate Medical Education_** oversees the accreditation of 125+ medical residency and fellowship training programs accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), four dental residencies accredited by Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA), 80+ non-ACGME accredited medical residency and fellowship programs and other post-graduate training programs. **We currently have an opening for a** **_Temporary_** **Accreditation Projects Specialist, expected to last up to one year.** ,
The Accreditation Projects Specialist (temporary) provides focused support for accreditation coordination, regulatory tracking, and data-driven compliance reporting within the GME Office. This project appointment helps ensure operational continuity for core accreditation functions across all residency and fellowship programs. The role emphasizes independent project coordination and cross-functional collaboration.
The Accreditation Projects Specialist reports to the Director of Accreditation. This position works collaboratively with the Associate Dean, members of the GME team, and other institutional stakeholders, with minimal supervision.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:** **Accreditation Coordination– 50%
• Coordinate and track time-sensitive accreditation projects, deadlines, and follow-ups across programs.
• Monitor and support documentation related to citations, self-studies, and other compliance milestones.
• Draft communications and create tools (e.g., trackers, templates) to support institutional oversight.
• Prepare materials and summaries for accreditation-related meetings and reviews.
Safety & Work Hour Monitoring – 25%
• Track and support response to resident/fellow safety incidents.
• Prepare monthly work hour reports and flag patterns of concern.
• Coordinate documentation and communication related to safety policies and compliance.
• Serve as liaison for follow-up with stakeholders regarding safety and work hour adherence.
Data and Reporting Support – 20%
• Assist with analysis and visualization of compliance trends and outcomes.
• Support report preparation for internal use and for accrediting bodies.
Other Duties – 5%
• Support updates to web content, documentation tools, and internal resources related to accreditation.
• Participate in special projects as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s Degree in any field.
• At least two years of experience in project management, ideally within an academic or medical setting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and experience with web-based management systems.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to work effectively under minimal supervision and maintain high levels of confidentiality.
