    Commercial Manager

    Job Description Summary

    The Commercial Manager leads, project manages, and produces top-tier, client-facing proposals and presentations for mid-level new client pursuits and account renewals to enhance win rates and maximize client retention efforts. This role coordinates the efforts of the Commercial Operations team, including solutions architects and cost estimation, working in tandem with Business Development and/or Client Services teams to devise a win or retention strategy tailored to the client's specific needs which clearly sets CWS apart from its competitors. Key duties involve driving value generation for new and existing client pursuits and account renewal efforts, as well as curating, refining, and assembling persuasive content and presentations.

     

    This role is highly visible within the organization and demands a motivated, proactive individual with stellar writing, collaborative, and project management capabilities, meticulous attention to detail, and proficiency in navigating both lateral and upward managerial structures in a dynamic and deadline-driven work environment.

    Job Description

    Principal Duties And Responsibilities

    + Act as the project manager for mid-level bids, researching the customer and industry and participating in workshops to create compelling value propositions that align with CWS strategic initiatives.

    + Work with SMEs and senior management to develop bid strategies and content.

    + Write compelling narratives and create qualification documents, visual presentations, and meeting documents.

    + Consult with business development leaders to produce proposals that demonstrate the firm's ability to serve the diverse needs of facility services for clients throughout North America.

    + Work on multiple projects as assigned, keeping them on schedule by multitasking and managing workload to not miss any internal and/or external deadlines.

    + Act as the process owner and be responsible for the value proposition, collection, organization of materials, content, design, and submission by the deadline.

    + Read and understand RFx (e.g., RFP, RFI, RFQ, PQI, etc.) from clients and prospective clients and respond to them accordingly.

    + Rewrite/edit information received from functional group departments. Ensure information meets the RFx requirements.

    + Complete and ensure delivery to the customer or Business Development within the required timeframe.

    + Adhere to all client requirements and comply with requisite formats, including but not limited to all regulations pertaining to bid preparation and submission guidelines.

    + Interact and collaborate with CWS' senior leaders, HR, Business Development, Solution Architects, Client Services (operations), Cost Estimation, Legal, Safety, Risk Management, Purchasing Facilities.

    + Assist in special projects requested by Business Development and Senior Management as necessary.

    + Act as a brand ambassador, ensuring brand standards are applied as outlined by our corporate brand standards, including styles and templates, for all documents (internal and external).

    Renewal/Rebid Management:

    + Collaborate with the Client Services GEO/Vertical leaders to develop strategies and value propositions for proposals, presentations, and other pursuit-related materials.

    + Research our clients' businesses and identify appropriate content to support business development activities.

    + Collect client evidence to create case studies that support our value proposition and proven performance for responses.

    + Lead and manage the process, including setting and maintaining timelines from Go/No-Go approval to Solution Review for successful material delivery by client deadline.

    + Develop and collect graphics and compile content for presentations.

    + Communicate CWS messaging simply and impactfully through all client-facing materials; coordinate with Marketing and other functions to ensure brand alignment.

    + Identify client-centric concepts and create themes to articulate our value proposition clearly and accurately through strategic storytelling.

    + Follow a communication cadence to capture and prepare positioning for upcoming account renewals with Client Service leaders.

    + Assume accountability for quality control of all deliverables. Perform copy editing and proofreading of all deliverables to produce clear and accurate documents that are well-written and evidence-based in a quick and efficient manner.

    + Manage multiple proposals and presentations simultaneously.

    Relationship Management

    + Ability to manage within the organization, both laterally and above, in a time-sensitive environment.

    + Engage with numerous internal stakeholders and knowledge experts within the organization to obtain the necessary information to complete proposals through informal discussions to customize responses.

    + Ability to help subject matter experts within the business articulate their messages succinctly and effectively.

    + Partner with and educate client service teams on CWS resources and tools to expand capacity.

    + Lead by example and model behaviors consistent with the company's values. Provides excellent customer service.

    Knowledge Management

    + Contribute to content management initiatives that elevate the sales enablement process.

    + Partner with the commercial coordinator to capture and catalog content that will support sales enablement and business development.

    + Support industry-specific knowledge management efforts to create a stronger baseline (presentation starter decks and proposal language) for each service line.

    + Identify best practices and innovations to share across the platform to improve win and retention rates and efficiency.

    The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate’s experience and qualifications.

     

    The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.

     

    The compensation for the position is: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00
