Position Description:

The Enterprise Security Analyst IV's scope of responsibility includes information security management at the enterprise level. This includes ensuring that necessary safeguards are present, operational, and effective. This position is expected to assist with training team members, lead and/or manage projects, and interface with users, vendors, or other stakeholders in providing operational support. Discretion and sound judgment is expected. Enterprise positions are restricted for use in central IT Division areas reporting to the institutional CIO and, as such, may interface with key IT leadership and/or other functional leadership from the Texas Tech University System institutions.

Major/Essential Functions:

+ Assists in the long-term strategy for security and defining processes for the daily secure operation of Microsoft M365

+ Manage the security related to Microsoft M365 defender products including: Microsoft Defender for Identity, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Microsoft Defender for Office 365

+ Manage the configuration, security, and daily operation of Microsoft Purview

+ Responds to IT Security incidents promptly

+ Develops plans to maintain the availability of computer files against accidental or unauthorized modification, destruction or disclosure

+ Regulates/audits access to computer data files, ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of business criticalinformation

+ Performs technical risk audits, and vulnerability assessments on information systems at all levels including network, system, application, and physical

+ Works with each IT area to assist in the development and technical implementation of security measures

+ Participates in campus projects to ensure security requirements are considered and metres

+ Coordinates with users (internal and vendors) to discuss issues such as computer data access needs, security violations,vulnerability remediation, and programming changes

+ Assists in installing, monitoring, and maintaining security-related applications and architectures

+ Collaborate with IT teams to escalate and resolve complex technical problems. Monitor system performance and proactively address potential issues

+ Other duties as assigned. Be available after hours for on-call schedule

+ Remains current with all licensure, certifications and mandatory compliances and trainings required of this position

+ Adhere to all policies, procedures and practices (Regents Rules, TTUS, HSECEP OPs, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

+ 1-4 years of experience in Microsoft 365 security planning, configuration, and operations

+ Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related area

+ Experience administering Microsoft 365 with a strong focus on securing all products and ensuring compliance with security best practices in dailyoperations

+ This position requires a very high level of proficiency in the operation and configuration of Security within aMicrosoft 365 environment

+ Experience in one or more information security domains as defined by the ISC2 CISSP

+ Common body of Knowledge (CBK), which currently includes: Access Control, Information security and riskmanagement, application security, operations security, security architecture and design, physical and environmental security, telecommunications and network security, cryptography, legal regulations, compliance, and investigations

+ Experience in key areas within information technology (ex. application development, application support, software, operating systems, networking)

+ An understanding of various operating systems (ex. Windows, Macintosh OSX, and Unix/Linux) to include an understanding of system administration

+ Experience with databases (MSSQL, MYSQL, Oracle)

+ An understanding of networking and network protocols

+ The ability to effectively communicate your ideas orally and in writing

+ Must be willing to work after hours and/or weekends when required and be part of an on call schedule as necessary

Pay Statement:

Required Qualifications:

+ Bachelor's degree with coursework in computer science, MIS, IT, or other related area plus five (5) years related full-time paid experience
