Summary
The Principal Strategic Distribution Manager facilitates customer s interactions within SRP as the coordinator for speculative and extremely complex, large scale construction projects. The Principal Strategic Distribution Manager provides technical support to The Principal Strategic Distribution Manager is responsible for proactively maintaining and developing relationships with existing and new strategic commercial and industrial customehe Business Project Center and Strategic Energy Management regarding enhanced service projects, dedicated substations, dedicated switchyards, and various other customer projects as well as overall power quality and reliability related issues/requests. The Principal Distribution Manager serves as the department lead and is responsible for strategic interactions with SRP Power Delivery, Distribution Operations Center, Power Dispatch Operations, and Strategic Planning and Economic Development.
What You'll Do
+ Proactively engages and supports SRP’s Economic Development team activities that lead to attracting and increasing large customers to locate and/or expand within SRP service territory
+ Presents cross-departmental challenges impacting SRP’s strategic commercial and industrial customers to the Large Customer Action Team (LCAT) in order to develop solutions that will be presented to the LCAT Steering Team and Executive Leadership Team
+ Proactively manages the ongoing development of relationships with assigned list of SRP’s most strategic commercial and industrial customers
+ Responsible for communicating and coordinating all SRP distribution and/or transmission work impacting assigned strategic commercial and industrial customers
+ Manages jobs related to enhanced service agreements, including Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), Distribution Feeder Automation (DFA, dedicated circuits, and new dedicatedsubstations and switchyards for assigned strategic and new speculative commercial and industrial customers
+ Reviews critical technical reports, processes and policies related to strategic commercial and industrial customers
+ Coordinates necessary internal SRP resources to address distribution and/or transmission issues for strategic commercial and industrial customers by identifying and developing internal processes related to enhanced service projects, dedicated substations, dedicated switchyards and other customer needs
+ Provides technical guidance to the Strategic Distribution Managers regarding strategic customer reliability issues
+ Develops new opportunities related to strategic commercial and industrial customer enhanced service, maintenance and power quality needs by expanding relationships and partnering with various internal SRP departments.
What It Takes To Succeed
+ Desirable candidate will have:
+ Experience as a Strategic Distribution Manager and/or Strategic Energy Manager.
+ Experience as an Account Manager and/or equivalent customer service role.
+ Technical experience with SRP’s distribution and transmission system.
+ Technical knowledge and experience related to SRP’s generation, transmission and distribution systems, and renewable resources.
+ Ability to identify critical issues impacting strategic customers; bring necessary teams together; lead teams to develop process or solutions; obtain management approval to
+ implement new processes or solutions.
+ Excellent time management and organizational skills, ability to manage multiple responsibilities at one time.
+ Perform miscellaneous job related functions as requested by senior management, SEM Director and BPC Manager.
+ Develop processes to improve SDM’s daily functions
+ Ability to communicate in a professional manner with SRP’s major commercial, institutional and industrial customers at all levels of their organizations.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on presentation skills
+ Present to BPC Manager, SEM Director and senior management on an as needed basis
+ Flexibility to travel to customer locations for meetings and to host customers at various SRP events during evening and other non-working hours. In additional, when power events negatively impact assigned critical strategic customers, Principal Strategic Distribution Manager may be needed to personally handle these during after-hours and perhaps visit customer onsite if required.
+ Understanding of and adherence to SRP’s Code of Conduct as it applies to competitive and non-competitive services and the responsibilities of the SDM.
+ Submit input into CRM in order to provide BPC Manager with regular updates to current projects and customer interactions.
Experience
A minimum of 10 years of related experience is required (if no degree, 14 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and related experience totaling 14 years).
Education
A bachelor’s degree related to the assignment from an accredited institution is preferred.
Hybrid Workplace
SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
