Commercial Refrigeration Technician

**Location:** North Chicago, IL

**Pay Rate:** $ 39.70/hour

**Schedule:** Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM

**Overtime:** Available but not mandatory

Tools, company vehicle, uniforms, and PPE provided

We are currently seeking a **Commercial Refrigeration Technician** to join our facilities team in North Chicago. In this critical role, you will support the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of our workplace by maintaining and repairing refrigeration systems and equipment. This is a hands-on position ideal for professionals with strong technical knowledge and a proven background in commercial refrigeration.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Perform preventative maintenance and repair of commercial refrigeration systems

+ Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, including compressors and fan systems

+ Service and maintain walk-in coolers and HVAC control systems

+ Operate specialized equipment (training provided for facility-specific systems)

+ Ensure work complies with EPA and company safety standards

+ Drive a company-provided vehicle to job sites within the facility or local area

Minimum Requirements:

+ 5–7 years of commercial refrigeration experience (residential-only experience will not be prioritized)

+ Universal EPA Certification – **Required**

+ Valid driver’s license – **Required**

+ Minimum of 5 years of experience working with HVAC control systems

+ Prior experience with walk-in coolers – **Highly Preferred**

+ Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for compressors, electrical, and mechanical systems

+ High school diploma or GED – **Required**

+ Associate degree in HVAC – **Preferred**

**Pay Details:** $39.70 per hour
