    Caterpillar’s Medium Wheel Loaders (MWL) are a driving product in enabling our customers to be successful in the building a better world and we have an excellent opportunity for you to join this critical team as a **Senior Design Engineer** focused on light fabricated and non-metallic components (i.e., fenders, hoods, platforms, enclosures). Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will design components using CREO 3-D modeling software and perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) components ensuring MWL products provide the performance, durability, quality, and serviceability our customers come to expect.

    What You Will Do:

    + Conceive and provide practical light fabrication and non-metallic design applications using complex technical principles.

    + Prepare concept, design, development, and feasibility studies for complex engineering projects.

    + Coordinate the design, analysis, and computer simulation efforts for light fabrication and non-metallic components.

    + Prepare development plans to meet scheduled dates.

    + Coordinate product tests with prove design and prototype build up and test areas.

    + Provide technical guidance to other technologists or engineers responsible for portions of the product project to ensure development schedules are met.

    + Evaluate, define and resolve design and manufacturing problems.

    What You Have (Basic Qualifications):

    + **Degree:** bachelor’s degree in engineering

    + **Product Design and Development:** Progressive experience designing heavy/light fabrication and non-metallic components that meet performance, durability, and serviceability standards.

    + **Technical Excellence:** Proficient in using CREO for 3D modeling and conducting Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to validate complex component designs.

    + **Analytical Thinking:** Skilled in evaluating, defining, and resolving design and manufacturing challenges across multiple concurrent projects.

    **Additional Info** :

    + **Office Model:** This position requires the employee to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office.

    + **Travel:** 20% domestic and international travel is expected.

    + **Relocation:** Domestic relocation will be available to those who qualify.

    + **ISE:** Not available.

    + **Visa Sponsorship:** Is available for those who qualify.

    Summary Pay Range:

    $110,520.00 - $165,840.00

     

    Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
