    Responsibilities

    + Provides spiritual assessments, emotional support, crisis intervention, grief ministry, and end-of-life care to patients and families.

    + Collaborates with hospital staff to address patients' spiritual care needs and ensure consistent on-call coverage.

    + Leads or assists with liturgical services, worship, and religious rites as appropriate.

    + Engages in professional development, hospital in-service programs, and relevant community education efforts.

    + Builds and maintains relationships with local clergy and faith communities to support holistic patient care.

    + Participates in trauma responses and emergency codes as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Education:

    + College graduate. Seminary or equivalent theological/ministerial education.

    + 4 Units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) preferred

    Experience:

    + Minimum of one year of healthcare experience preferred.

    License(s)/Certification(s):

    + Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons Certification by a professional chaplaincy organization within two years of hire.

    + Ability to function effectively within team environment.

    + Ability to exercise good judgment, maintain interpersonal relationships, adapt to change, evaluate critically and think creatively and be able to organize and plan effectively.

    + Ability to maintain documentation of services provided.

    + Must demonstrate knowledge and skills to respond to spiritual needs of patients, families and employees.
