    Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

     

    NBCUniversal/Versant is looking for an Analyst of Consumer Insights to help reveal primary research and market intelligence insights in support of the Versant portfolio including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY, and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine.

     

    This individual will be a critical player within the Revenue & Strategic Analytics & Insights team, tasked with supporting primary research and market intelligence projects and conducting robust analysis in support of the team’s strategic objectives, especially as they relate to a variety of business initiatives across TV and digital assets. In this role, you will report to the Manager of Market Research & Insights in support of stakeholders across the organization.

    THE IDEAL CANDIDATE IS:

    A researcher ready to have an impact and dig into the data that helps drive strategic decision-making as it relates to overall business strategy and unlocking growth opportunities. You should have experience with quantitative and qualitative primary research techniques and market intelligence tools, including conducting robust analysis to discover the story in the data.

    + To offer yourself as a consultative resource to peers and internal stakeholders, with deep knowledge of entertainment, news, and sports viewers and fans and their preferences, habits, and lifestyles

    WHAT YOU WILL GET FROM THIS ROLE:

    + Conduct meaningful analysis: Contribute to optimizing go-to-market strategy across all the Versant portfolio, informing audience insights, partnership insights, marketing positioning, etc.

    + Drive impact: Contribute to a team playing a critical role in driving revenue growth and delivering on Versant strategic goals for audience growth and engagement across TV and digital properties.

    + Broaden your research knowledge: Expand your primary research skills and experience as you learn how to solve problems through creative research design and data analysis

    + Gain experience partnering with internal stakeholders: Build relationships with stakeholders like marketing, ad sales, finance, product and analytics and partner with them to help achieve their objectives

    + Work with smart people and industry experts: Collaborate with experts across many different teams within the Data Insights & Strategic Analytics team and wider greater Versant organization

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    + Must be an entertainment, news, or sports fan and be familiar with the entertainment, news, or sports landscape

    + Bachelor’s degree required in a relevant field (Business, Market Research, Psychology, Sociology, Statistics, etc.), Master’s degree a plus

    + 1+ years of experience in market research and data analysis (includes internship experience), contributing to the analysis and completion of complex projects

    + Excellent writing and storytelling skills

    + Basic statistics knowledge and experience

    + Proven collaboration and interpersonal skills

    + Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously

    + Experience using survey and data analysis tools such as Qualtrics, Displayr a plus

    + Experience using syndicated tools such as comScore, MRI Simmons a plus

    + Experience using advanced analytics techniques/tools such as SQL, Tableau, Looker a plus

    + Mastery of Microsoft Office suite

    + Be able to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment, be detail oriented, deadline driven

    + Must be a team player with a positive attitude and have experience effectively interacting with a diverse team of people

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

    + Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week. Subject to change based on Manager discussion or business need.

    + This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other benefits and perks.     + Salary range: $62,000 - $80,000
