Job Overview
Responsible for working with Fairview Pharmacy Services (FPS) leadership within their department in partnership with the Pharmacy System Training Team for department curriculum design, development, implementation, and execution for new and transferring employees to ensure consistency and the highest standards of customer service, process improvement and quality control. This includes training and orientation, workflows, policies, and competencies as well as ensuring the curriculum meets the needs of all stakeholders within in their department and consistent with Fairview Pharmacy Services Policies, Procedures and Standards.
Training Development
+ Partners with the pharmacy training team and FPS leadership to assist with identifying department training needs and propose solutions that are innovative, inspiring, efficient and in alignment with FPS objectives.
+ Collaborates with others to continually evaluate and identify refinements to training as needed.
+ Partners with FPS leadership to apply updates to training and incorporate upgrades to system applications, department policies, and workflows. Develops effective ways to deliver the updated information to current staff. Creates and maintains high-quality resources (PowerPoint Presentations, Job aids, tip sheets….) to supplement and reinforce messaging given and organizes them for most efficient use in the pharmacy.
Training Execution
+ Employs knowledge of different learning styles and utilizes various techniques.
+ Adjusts style to address group dynamics to ensure an environment conducive to learning.
+ Designs, organizes, and executes training programs for new and current pharmacy staff to ensure maximum productivity, competency, consistency, safety, and the highest standards of customer service.Conducts face-to-face and virtual educational sessions for FPS.
+ Maintains learning materials and updates as needed.
+ Cross trains with other staff in necessary areas.
Quality Improvement
+ Conducts ongoing analyses of implemented training programs and continually refines and enhances as necessary to meet the needs of employees, pharmacy departments, and pharmacy regulations and other areas of Shared
+ Clinical Services and Fairview Clinics in partnership with FPS and the pharmacy training team.Solicits feedback from staff, supervisors, managers, and new employees. Utilizes the feedback for ongoing process improvement in training.
+ Recommends and implements changes in methods or procedures to increase the efficiency, competency and safety of the sites and maximize productivity.
+ Assists FPS in partnership with the pharmacy training team with all FPS competency requirements utilizing standards of practice to ensure regulatory and compliance policies are upheld.
Purpose and Planning
+ Evaluates course offerings and resolves barriers to learning.
+ Ensures that all offered learning solutions are supported with clear learning objectives, a high level of interactivity, and direct role application.
+ Verifies the subject matter with experts to ensure all materials are correct from a content perspective.
+ Possesses a thorough understanding of project planning.
+ Develops plan for small projects along with FPS.
Employee Development
+ Partners with pharmacy training team and FPS leaders to identify knowledge or skill deficits of individual employees and provide one-on-one or group education and training as needed to ensure opportunities for employees’ success.

Required Qualifications
+ Vocational School Vocational/Technical Pharmacy Technician Training Program or Degree or
+ Associates degree in health care or related field or
+ Equivalent experience
+ 2 years pharmacy experience
+ Pharmacy Technician MN
+ National Pharmacy Technician Certification - If not Nationally Certified, will be required to obtain Pharmacy Technician National Certification within 1 Year
Preferred Qualifications
+ Associates or
+ B.S./B.A.
+ 1 year experience preferred in their department area
